Didn't Australia beat Japan in Olympic qualifying? And Japan didn't qualify. I think that the two teams are capable of beating each other on any given day. Japan would have hosted the 2019 World Cup, but they passed it up. There's an old saying, "on your feet, lose your seat". But Japan should't be left in the cold. They deserve a coin flip, or better yet .... One way to settle is to have Japan and Australia play in a two-leg series (one home game each). Whoever comes out on top, gets to host the 2023 World Cup. With Europe hosting it in 2019, and Asia in 2023, it'll come back to the West Hemisphere in 2027. USA will host it in 2027. Brazil screwed themselves with how they handled the 2016 Rio Olympics.
And can't wait to watch a near 30 year old Mallory Pugh in 2027, playing in the new Rose Bowl. Just 10 years away.
Despite the other countries bidding(South Korea, Thailand, New Zealand & Colombia), the 2023 WWC will be decided between Australia & Japan.
I've no idea why we would be wasting the cash in bidding for this. FIFA have no interest in coming to our part of the World and we wouldn't be up to making them interested. You would think we would have learned our lesson with previous bids for FIFA tournaments.
Australia has a chance to host in 2023. Japan is probably still the leading contender to host, but Australia has a chance. If Australia doesn't get it in 2023, then there's always 2035.
I don't believe FIFA wants to hold tournaments in our part of the World. Our History of bidding for these events has seen us miss out time and time again. We bid for the 2003 WWC, and were the only bidder at the time bids initially closed. FIFA decided to reopen bids and then gave the Cup to China, before taking it off them and transferring it back to the USA. We also bid for the Club World Cups when FIFA were allocating the 2009 to 2012 versions. The other bidders were UAE and Japan. FIFA gave two to UAE and two to Japan. The bid for 2022 World Cup only got one vote. I don't believe there is any chance of FIFA having the WWC in Australia, and think its a complete waste of money bidding for the tournament.
so France was awarded the hosting rights in March 2015. Assuming the timeline is the same, is Japan still the favorites? Maybe Australia now with their government committing $4 million to their bid. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/s...k=0b0faa75a68b1c3723e2f4703ba24306-1518049525
India considering bidding for the 2023 WWC. A real darkhorse compared to everyone else expecting to submit bids. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com...cup-womens-world-cup/articleshow/63491555.cms
with the men's WC swinging back into the US again in the 2020s and the Olympics happening in the US, I wonder if the Womens World Cup will get another swing in the USA again.
USA will be hosting the Women's World Cup in 2027, or 2031 at the latest. It'll have to come back eventually to the Western Hemisphere, and it sure as hell won't be in Brazil, after they fubbed up the 2016 Olympics. It won't be in Canada next time, since they just had it in Canada (2015). That leaves USA as the only other option in the Western Hemisphere to host it next. Technically, USA didn't host the 2003 Women's World Cup. China did. USA did FIFA a solid by stepping in and hosting it at the last second. USA should get to host in 2027, since it's truly been since 1999 in winning the bid. USA didn't get to host in 2003 the way they would normally want to (and prepare for). They'd much rather have that tournament in June-July (early August at the latest). Having it in September-October was a nightmare here in 2003. It got way less attention since it was competing against NFL and College Football. Plus the MLB playoffs.
2023 will be in Japan or Australia. 2027 may go back to Europe(England? Spain?) or possibly to a South American country (Colombia, Chile?).
South Africa to bid for 2023 WWC. http://www.espn.com/soccer/fifa-wom...ld-cup-bid-south-africa-danny-jordaan?src=com
Total of 8 countries have announced their intentions to submit a bid for the 2023 WWC. Japan, Australia, South Korea, India, Thailand, New Zealand, Colombia & South Africa.
The Netherlands should host a women's World Cup. Just hosted the successful European championship; nice fields, strong soccer nation. They'd obviously have to want to bid, which apparently they haven't done!
South Africa confirm bid for 2023 WWC. https://www.goal.com/en-za/news/rep...fa-womens-world-cup/3o9phm43ncnj1sxlu5kfw8l7i Appears as though South Korea & India have withdrawn their bids. Down to 6 countries now: Japan, Australia, South Africa, Thailand, New Zealand, Colombia.
It'll either be in Japan or a dual-host in Australia & New Zealand. We're not ready for an inferior women's soccer nation like South Africa, Thailand, or Colombia to host. Colombia would be terrible as a host. They would be much worse than Brazil hosting the 2016 Rio Olympics, which was a fail. Brazil did alright in hosting the 2014 World Cup. But they weren't professionally prepared and ready for the 2016 Rio Games.
World Cup needs to come back to the Western Hemisphere in 2027. Need to have it in the West at least once every 12 years. USA should host in 2027. 2015 = Canada 2019 = France 2023 = Japan (or Australia, or Australia / New Zealand) 2027 = USA 2031 = Netherlands 2035 = China (or South Korea) 2039 = South Africa (finally it's time to add them in) 2043 = Canada (or Brazil, or Argentina) 2047 = England (Great Britain) 2051 = Australia (if Japan hosted in 2023)
I don't see the USA hosting again for a while due to the men's World Cup in 2026 shared with Canada & Mexico. Maybe 2035 the earliest. 2023: Japan 2027: Netherlands 2031: South Africa or Australia 2035: USA 2039: England
Let's go South Africa. though I'm sure Australia will be hosting this one. Well, them or the Japanese.
why should the NL host in 2031? I can see Australia or Japan hosting 2023 with us getting to host it again in 2027 with 2031 going to a new continent. Either African or South America.
No way they go with a 20 year drought before Western Hemisphere hosts again. 2015 - Canada all the way to 2035 - USA ??? They will not wait 20 years to bring it back to the Western Reaches. We're going for the Trifecta (HAT TRICK): - 2026 World Cup - 2027 Women's World Cup - 2028 Summer Olympics
doesn't seem like a South America country will host ahead of the likes of Netherlands, England, South Korea or even South Africa. No way Mexico hosts as the interest isn't there.
