Hi everyone, My name's Tom Williams and I'm a journalist from the AFP news agency. I'm writing a book - a global football glossary - which is due for publication next year and I'm using the Big Soccer forums during my research. I'm currently looking for words or phrases from Cameroon, Ivory Coast and DR Congo. Does anyone have any suggestions? They might be names for pieces of skill, types of goal, styles of player etc. or more general words about fan culture, off-pitch matters or famous incidents. (I'm not looking for nicknames, be they for players or teams.) Obviously all three countries share a lot of vocabulary with France and the other Francophone nations, but if you know any terms that are unique to any of these countries, please let me know.
