First and much-needed win of the season. Grinding out a 1-0 victory at home against Veracruz is not exactly inspiring. Even La Volpe said he didn't like how we won. But three points is still three points, even if it wasn't exactly in dominating fashion. For the positives, I present you Dominguez: This kid has me feeling more excited about the season than I was just a day ago. He didn't connect with teammates all that well, but that is to be expected with his first minutes with the team. However, when he would get the ball in space attacking a defender 1v1 I thought he showed good skills and made smart decisions. As he gets settled in, he may well grow into a true playmaking role. If so, I may have to apologize to Pelaez. Anybody know what the "timeout" celebration is signifying? I've seen that he has been doing it from before he got here and did it again last night.
First half was pretty boring as neither side was able to create many chances. But the second half was much better as we seemed to keep playing better as it went along. Cecilio with another good performance including a goal. Alvarez got a nice goal as well. Not sure why he didn't get the start though.

5 matches in with 2 wins and 3 losses. Those two wins were against the two teams at the bottom of the relegation table. Not to mention an ugly loss to an Ascenso team in Copa MX. @Serg33 looking like that devil on the shoulder that is starting to make sense.
Hella draws though....I get it, in a way. I thought he would just play out the season....get points at any cost and take our chances in the liguilla. When I found out he was going to stay for this season I knew we would suck. This guy has 1 title in 20 something years....he hasn't been impressive with any team since coming back from coaching the NT. His time has passed....there is a reason Mike Dikta doesn't coach anymore
I missed most of the game while taking care of two sick kids. But from what I've seen cleaning vomit was better than watching that performance. We face Coras midweek in Copa MX, then it's Chivas on Saturday. Anything less than three points against Chivas and I will join the LaVolpe firing squad. Here's a little more negativity to chew on: If LaVolpe gets canned, I just pray he's not replaced with another multi-recycled coach. I read an article mentioning Marcelo Gallardo as a possibility. That's the kind of change I would welcome.
Valdez, Ibarra, and Pablo Aguilar are questionable for the Clasico. Ugh. I suppose this could mean Micky or Paredes get into the 18 finally.
Because your heart has been broken too many times, and now you have grown cold and cynical? But buck up! It's Valentine's Day and, most importantly:
