i thought it was nice he kept Salah from falling and injuring himself... and we tend to think athletes are selfish.
A very nice win made that much better by the absence of any injuries, always a worry when you visit Dyche and his thugs.
12 points from a possible 12 and 13 league wins on the trot. I'll take it. As a bonus to supporters, they should just remain at the top of the table from now until the season ends...
was Mane's shitfit justified? looks like they pass to each other almost the same amount, but Mane has created a lot more chances for Mo (34) than Mo does for Mane (25) although it's not really that lopsided https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/49538837 Since 2017-18 ------Passes -----Chances created -----Assists Salah to Mane ------172 ----------------25----------------------4 Salah to Firmino ----277 ---------------34 ----------------------5 Mane to Salah ------177 ---------------43------------------------7 Mane to Firmino ----209 ---------------17-----------------------2 Firmino to Mane ----222 ---------------26-----------------------5 Firmino to Salah ----256 ---------------33-----------------------7
There is a view among observers that Liverpool’s current team contains world-class talent in goal, defence and attack, but that their midfield is made up of carthorses who basically run around a lot. It’s often said and always wrong, and anyone in doubt of that should watch Fabinho’s display in the victory against Burnley. The Brazilian was outstanding in a defensive midfield role, combining tactical maturity with natural athleticism. He completed 82.3% of his passes, won 66.7% of his tackles, made five recoveries and even found the time to earn a free‑kick. The 25‑year‑old has become a fundamental figure for the European champions and deserves to be recognised as one of the best players in his position right now, https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2019/sep/02/premier-league-talking-points-weekend-action
IMO we have the best spine in world football. The 3 Brazilians + VVD...but as importantly, well balanced too. Gini is underrated and one of my favorites, along with Bobby. When Naby comes good... I think we’ll see our 3 Brazilians serve as the spine for the NT at the next World Cup. FSG, Klopp et. al have done an amazing job rebuilding this club top to bottom.
clearly a mischaracterization of Klopp's first choice midfield. At this point Hendo is a slight defensive liability ( he's slowed a step or two ) compared to others who play his position, but he's a very smart footballer, makes excellent penetrating passes, so his upside outweighs the minor negative. Gini is best suited to a more attacking role but he is also very deft defensively ( he could be a bit stronger ) so to call him a carthorse is stupic. Fabinho is second to Fernandinho for me, which is hard to say because of where the latter plays, but it's true.
Millie's take on the incident. Gotta love Millie ..... https://www.footballfancast.com/pre...tweet-in-response-to-sadio-mane-salah-debacle
I doubt they read the complete stats. Probable has mostly to do with one or two recent perceived "should haves" - problem is that Salah has been recently passing way more than he was in the middle of last season when he was a bit off. Mane was making a bit more of this one than need be made though, because for someone at the speed and trickery that Salah was moving at, its pretty hard to see the open player unless you are Messi. I'm on Salah's side here.... I don't even see him being greedy this year. He is laying the ball off at times when he could maybe shoot..... storm in a tea-saucer....
