I ain't gonna lie. I would've taken a combination of Toño Rodriguez, José Hernández and Sebastián Jurado over Lajud and Hugo González.

Jose Hernandez is average at best. No way is he above Lajud and Gonzalez.

Eh, I prefer his potential to those two's (who I do find painfully average and worse yet, seem to have peaked).

Potential? Because he's tall? The senior national team shouldn't be based on potential because of reality except on limited cases. And if there is a keeper that has shown potential it's Jurado, who should be the U23 number 1 keeper instead of Hernandez. Present day he's not near Lajud and Gonzalez (who aren't that old either) and in future potential he's not as good as Gudiño or Jurado. No way he should get called.

because most strikers in the league are foreigners and Chivas hasn't produced a decent striker in over a decade. Also Henry would most likely be a top scorer in the league if he started for any other squad but Piojo gonna Piojo.

Genuinely asking. Is this a case of "you cant score if you are not playing?"; in regards to why Mexican strikers arent the top scorers?

The owners of Liga MX get these already established forwards so cheap from South America. I think its a partial case of multiple factors and not a case of Mexicans cannot become top scorers. Look at Hirving Lozano and Raul Jimenez Both are forwards and both are starters for their respective teams. They are both in the top 5 and 10, respectively with a goal or two separating them from other goal scorers in each of their leagues. I don't think its a straight up case of Mexican forwards/strikers aren't capable of scoring, its a case of they aren't given a chance.

pfft first they need to find mexican-americans that are at least average, there isn't a single instance of one being even close to becoming senior mexican national team material.

While bums like Jesús Dueñas keep getting called up. The talent to earn a call-up is there. He in fact has had few call-ups.
