Rio Preto will hope that their prolific goalscorer Letícia can make the difference in these games. Corinthians' key striker in the semifinals was Adriana "Maga", backed by playmaker Gabi Zanotti. In fact, Corinthians' forward line Adriana and Millene were both at Rio Preto in 2017.

    The playoffs so far:

The 2017 Brazilian champions, Santos, surprisingly lost in the quarter-finals to Railway Club, Ferroviária, who then lost in the semi-final to Rio Preto. Letícia scored twice in Rio Preto's decisive home win (video highlights / match report).

The other semi-final was a hectic Corinthians v Flamengo matchup. First Flamengo won 2-1 at home in Rio de Janeiro, and they scored two spectacular goals to equalize in the 2nd leg in São Paulo. But a late defensive surrender let Corinthians score twice and win 4-2 (5-4 aggregate), with a last-minute penalty by Millene.

Final - the best live updates will probably be on Portal Corinthians Feminino
    - https://twitter.com/sccpfeminino
There's also info on Timão Mulher on Twitter, and a lot less on Rio Preto's Twitter.

Corinthians will be wearing the Ayrton Senna tribute kits that were announced earlier this month:

In fact there are two Letícias on the field today (nicknamed "Lelê")

Corinthians' goalkeeper is Letícia Izidoro, who was in Brazil's last World Cup squad. Meanwhile the top Rio Preto striker, who got 18 goals in this year's Paulista, is Letícia, also known as Letícia Negona.

The only person who can stop Letícia is Letícia.

7th minute, Adriana (Corinthians no 16) had the best chance so far, clean through on goal against RP goalkeeper Rosany, but Adriana hit it wide to the right

A few close calls at Corinthians' end of the field, including a free-kick from Rio Preto's Maria on the right flank, tipped over by Letícia Izidoro.

But then, 45+1', Goal Corinthians: Marcela crosses from the left for Adriana to head the ball into the right corner of the net.

Away goals don't count as a tiebreaker in these playoffs, so things aren't so drastic for home teams. The CBF announced that away goals did count, before the Corinthians-Flamengo game, but other clubs' web pages (and the CBF's own rulebook!) seem to contradict it.

[IMG] Three more bookings in the 2nd half so far - ref Rejane Caetano da Silva is running a tight ship :)

75' Substitutes in - Carol for Rio Preto, Kamilla for Corinthians.

It's over - 1st leg match report with the minute-by-minute updates:

    - www.globoesporte.globo.com/sp/tem-esporte/jogo/20-10-2018/rio-preto-corinthians-feminino.ghtml (Archived)

So, on Friday night, Corinthians are going for their first Brasileirão Feminino title, in front of a home crowd at Parque São Jorge. Funny that they've been the continental champions but never Brazilian champions... but there you go.

Apparently the club existed from 1997-2008, then it was disbanded for 8 years.
