Heh, this is an interesting thread from the GloryGlory forum. One Spurs fan says Kasey is without a doubt the best keeper in the premiership, and then another guy pipes in saying he's actually the 2nd best, after Brad (and then remarking how it's funny that the two best players at a position in the Premiership are both American). http://www.glory-glory.net/interact...forum=0&searchSort=dateDESC&ReturnPage=Search
Great stuff, but why did a silly American have to pipe in and say that Tim Howard was as good as Ollie Kahn. There's no need to say anything when others are praising you, but sheesh. Tim Howard? It's way too early to say that he's at the Friedel or Keller level, let alone Kahn. I think I'll take Kahn, even over Tim Howard (or Kasey Keller). Kahn is part human, part God. Too bad we can't use more than one keeper at a time. Or, think of it another way, if soccer were hockey, we would be in the top 10 without any doubt.
I think goalkeeper is the only position that we can export routinely. It's our deepest, strongest, best position... and we can only play one at a time.
The Abe Lincoln and George Washington of US goalkeepers It's before my time but was Kasey ever viewed higher than say Friedel?
74 secs? Don't know. Came up in the search engine and thought I'd note how much our GK pool has dried up compared to the confidence in it we once had.
