Regardless, it won't help by us yapping on. In reality we should be going with 50 already but it is how it is.

These were his first Olympic Games so they weren't expecting a surprise or something big. Rio de Janeiro would will be where he would be a medal contender.

He didn't do too bad, he got 2:05 while most got 2:01, 2:00, etc. Plu, like ypu said, it was his first Olympics...

Up next, Mekic competes August 2nd, I believe, against a South Korean who is ranked 8th in the world.

He won't finish last at Brazil in 2016, that's for sure. he could be top 25+, which would still be nice, honestly.

Isn't he injured though? Plus, he is already in England, might as well come to show a fellow countryman support when you can't train in football with his injury.

    For those who don't know.

In Judo, there are two bronze medal winners, let me explain how this is possible. For example, if Amel Mekic (starting from Round of 32) wins, and then loses in the Round of 16, he goes to the repachage tournament. This means, 16 competitors compete for a bronze. While they do this, the winners of the Round of 16 in the original tournament compete in two mats, Mat 1 and Mat 2. So basically, there are two semifinal winners, one from each bracket, in the original tournament. SO the winners of the semis play for gold, the losers go for bronze. Keep in mind that the repechage tournament is for a bronze. This menas there is a gold winner, silver winner, and two bronze winners.

incredible amount of luck? how so? did you even watch him? yes, this is a disaster i was not expecting an exit in the first round. Far out, not a medal at this years Olympics! Gee whiz. Bogami feel upset but can't do anything about it. He is one of the best judoka's in Europe and was really the one who could of won gold for us at this present time.

Yeah, he was really lucky against Grol. He was pretty much tossed around during the entire match, but still managed to win via ippon.

It wasn't lucky to win first place at the European Championships last summer. He was just very unlucky to have to face one of the best Asians and overall players in the world, that's all. It was a pretty even match, actually.

    Yeah, but still.

If you're Europa's best judoka than he should've won. Regardless how good the other guy is.

Only ones we can rely on now are Kemal Mesic, Lucia Kimani and Nedzad Fazlija. Kemal Mesic being the more likely contender.
