I'd love to get a serious perspective about this matchup from the point of view of Brazilian journalists, but unfortunately your links are not working.

Flu's RB must be awful if they think Maidana is better than him. I also think that Ibarra will be back by that time as will Caranta

I'm obviously not as familiar with Flu as with Boca, but for the most part I think the analysis by the Brazilian article is fair. I would take issue with ranking Julio Cesar over Morel. Also, I'm not too impressed with their goalie. Other than that, it sounds about right.

    Should be an exciting matchup.

the great point in favor of boca is that Ygor will probably mark Riquelme, and ygor is by far the worst fluminense player.

If renato put arouca marking riquelme and ygor as a libero flu could play better.

actually, fluminense play in 3-5-2 away and 4-4-2 at home.

    Away:

    ----------------Fernando henrique--------------------
    --------Thiago Silva----Ygor-----Luis Alberto---------
    Gabriel----------------Arouca-------------Junior César
    -----------Conca---------------Thiago neves----------
    -------------Washington---------Dodo----------------

    At home:
    ----------------Fernando henrique--------------------
    ------------Thiago Silva----Luis Alberto---------------
    Gabriel--------------------Ygor---------Junior César--
    -------------Arouca/cícero---------------------------
    -------Conca-----------------Thiago neves-----------
    -------------Washington-----------Dodo--------------

For me conca is the 4th or 5th best flu player

    1 - Thiago Silva - defender
    2 - Dodo - forward
    3 - Washington -center forward
4 - thiago neves or conca.

the game agains são paulo: 3x1 in 46 minutos of second half, making 3x2 aggr

Tá maluco, cara? Dodô? He hasn't done ANYTHING all year other than the game vs Arsenal. Washington went goal less for 8 games until he scored vs São Paulo. Thiago Silva and Thiago Neves are Flu's key players, followed by Conca, Washington.

São Paulo didn't play well throughout the whole tournament. Their team was basically Adriano +10.

ok because I saw an article from Brasil saying that Conca was a top player and would outshine Riquelme or something like that, but he wasn't really a good player when he played in Argentina.

Washington is a hell of a player though, hopefully the defense will keep him in check

    Ditto. What an entertaining match!

Gracias! It's nice to hear how the other half called it. I say this, because it was much different on FSE where the narrators were definately Boca biased. I didn't mind though.

When Boca scored, I though the guy was having a heart attack. When Fluminese scored the tying goal, he went silent for a second before calling the goal. :D

News: Prensa elogia seguridad de Fluminense ante el Boca

El club Fluminense brasileño, con poca tradición en la Libertadores, le arrancó en la noche del miércoles un heroico empate al encopetado Boca Juniors argentino en plena Buenas Aires.

I know,,,pretty funny. I dont mind biased in that sense. Actually as a fan from liga, I loved it when they did that with San Lorenzo. What I dont accept is when calls made by the ref or plays are not seen objectively. Which Argentinan dont tend to do too much.

I gotta say that was a great game. I was hoping not to see such a great game, in the sense that it was one sided towards boca but jeez for futbol in general that game was gut wrenching.

I thought the Brazilians were flopping a bit (not say Arg. doesnt) in the game and it was a little annoying. But let's not make the post about that, the game was well played and the final score hurt but just.

Hope Boca can play hard in Brazil....we'll see!
