Thank god this nightmare of a season has ended. In truth we do not deserve to be in the top 4. We don't even deserve to be top 6, IMHO. Shambolic performance yet again from this squad. No passion, no gut, no spine, no nothing. Get rid of this deadwood and be done with it. Zorc and Watzke better show themselves out instead of thinking about another 10 year ''plan" to catch Bayern. Stoger can follow them, 2/3 of the squad too - none will be missed, especially not the likes of the former, or nothing players like Schurrle, Burki (yes, he is a nothing player, a keeper who is mediocre at best and constantly f***s up when it matters most), Sahin, Rode, Castro, Toljan, Toprak and Schmelzer. Dortmund has declined so much that it is painful to watch really. And if signings like Hitz are intended to remedy the situation, then something is very wrong with the club and its ambitions.

Watzke needs to be replaced with a more ambitious CEO. Our mngmnt seems happy with us turning into the German version of Arsenal, all profits no sporting success. That's unbecoming of a club that won the Champions League.

Perfect analogy and I think we are in similar positions this summer.

Finally this season is over. We need several changes for next season.

The bright spot is despite everything mentioned we still finished fourth.

Best I can come up with.

    On to the World Cup

Fully agree. Stoger and 2/3 of the squad need to go, but it might be difficult to find takers for them. And if they are replaced with similar mediocrity then like Hitz nothing will change.

I'm not overwhelmed by Favre's potential appointment either, would much prefer the club to show some real ambition and do everything it can to try and tempt Sarri. That would be a real statement of intent.

AFAIK Sarri doesn't speak a word of German, in which case we can forget about him, because the first rule of getting the job at BVB is being fluent in German.
