Not a good match. We are getting completely outplayed and the midfield is non existent. Playing the failed 4-3-3 with Raphael in midfield.

    Burki
    Tolkan Toprak Sokratis Schmlezer

    Kagwa Weigl Raphael

    Yarmolenko Auba Pulisic.

Probably going to be another loss.

I missed much of the first half but it looked toothless. For the chances I've seen, Yarmo made some bad decisions.

Yarmalenko is awful , hasn't done one thing right all game .
Yet another substandard player brought in on big wages .
This squad needs a huge overhaul but how do you get rid of so much krap on so much money ?

Lucky goal for us by Pulisic. Hoffenheim were closer to the win in the second half and we score the goal that we almost botched in the development. Would be an important win, of course.

We managed to win. This is a win due to the guts and fight of the team, because Hoffenheim looked the better side.

Auba with a great chance to make it 3:1. Sadly, Dahoud misses the next chance. Would have surely helped him a lot.
2:1 win in the end. Feels very lucky.

The winter break is coming at just the right time IMO. Gives Stöger time to figure out his vision for the team, leaves everyone on a nice two-game win streak, and gives the opportunity for us to fire out of the gate refreshed.

Lucky but important win. We need a big clean up in the squad. By now the worst crap is Toljan (easy to understand why Nagelsman prefered Kaderabek), closely followed by Schmeltzer and Pisczek. Weigl and Guereiro are only shadows of themselves from last season. Today Yarmo was an absolute crap, don't understand why PS waited so long. On the other hand it's no hurry with putting in another crap...
We urgently need a new RB, CB and DM. All defensive players, as it is there we are most vulnerable

lucky we were theres no arguing in that BUT as soon as that commentator said something like "you get the feeling hoffenheim will soon break this bvb defense" i just knew it might actually just be the other way around.

big bloody win going in to the break glad we pulled it off at home ;))

We seriously need a huge squad overhaul. However, such things are done in the summer so we will have to soldier on. Hoffe looked the better side, but we managed to snatch a win nonetheless. Good on Stoger's part to end the first half of the season with 2 wins. God knows we needed some confidence before the Bayern game.

Still good for top 4, maybe new coach will sort it out.

There won't be huge overhaul. No money or wish for it from the top.

Unless the Dembele money vanished into thin air alongside the money from a potential sale of Aubameyang, there's money there. And realistically I think overhaul is meant moreso in terms of churning out a lot of squad players who haven't done much lately like Rode, Schmelzer, Sahin, etc. and bringing in some younger players better suited for the style the team aspires to play.

Rode for sure. Sahin looks done. I still have a warm spot for Schmelzer. He can be a good sub squad player.

Yes Schmelzer is a good substitute player for a 2.BL team.

Rode and Durm are of no benefit with no resale value . Schurrle , no benefit possible re sale value at huge loss .
Sahin , Pisczek not up to it anymore.
IMO Bartra , Dahoud not good enough .
Burki is erratic , and the second biggest club in Germany could do better .
Not particularly impressed by Yarmalenko , Dahoud looks nothing like the player of 2 seasons ago .Toljan was cheap and looks it .

Change may not be drastic , have to keep faith with some of these and hope things improve and that none of Auba , Reus or Weigl leave but an upgrade in personnel is drastically needed .

We have a good core of players - Sokratis, Weigl, Pulisic, Guerreiro, Gotze, Philipp, Bartra, Auba, Reus (should they decide to stay). A solid core, but the others around them are sub-par for the most part. Rode, Sahin, LP, Schmelzer, Castro, Weidenfeller, Schurrle, Durm are players for a 2.BL team, not for a team contending the 2nd spot in the 1.Bundesliga. Dahoud is a far cry from the player he was in Gladbach, Burki is hit and miss and as Quigs said, the second biggest club in Germany can do better - Horn is a good option, Trapp could be up for grabs. Yarmo hasn't been spectacular and neither have been the likes of Toprak and Toljan. Subotic and Kagawa could be kept as options from the bench, but nothing more than that. A drastic overhaul is not something optional - it is something essential, even more so now that we have money the from Dembele and potentially Auba in the summer.

Drastic overhaul? I think they need to settle on a coach first. If there are FB's on the market that might be worth a look.

I think it is too early to call on Toljan, Toprak, and Dahoud, they might settle in and come good. Weigl has looked immediately better under Stoger, and they have shown enough that it is too soon to give up on them.

Must correct last post . When I said Dahoud not good enough, but meant
, not been good enough this season , and last for that matter .He looked a very good player 2 seasons ago .
May still come good now Bosz has gone .
If we do buy , it has to be an upgrade , too much mediocrity in the squad .
