Yes and apparently its because Kovac does not get along with him.

You guys have a 200M war chest. Spend that on Pavard, Ramsey, Pulisic and James. That should at least keep you in the top 4.

I’m not interested in Ramsey or Pulisic.

    I’d prefer Dybala.

You won't get him. Ronaldo will throw a hissyfit. Besides Juventus have the highest revenue growth in all of Europe. They're confident of making more money to hold onto their stars.

On the flip side your FO is cheap AF.

On a practical level is it that important the coach speaks German (decently)? He probably at least needs to speak English well...

Bayern has always stated that their coach be German or speaks German. The core of the team in German and makes communication easier just like every coach that goes to England learns decent English

It's a BS requirement. Kovac speaks fluent German and he's not that competent as a coach. He can't even tame newcomers to the club. Eintracht is doing better without him.

Bosz also communicated in German and sucked really bad once Thomas Tuchel muscle memory wore off.

On the flip side Carlo couldn't put two sentences together in German. Same thing happened to him after Peps muscle memory wore off.

Good coaches find a way to get their ideas across. Talented people don't see language as a barrier. Either they circumvent it somehow or they bulldoze right through it.

Mandating German requirement shrinks their selection pool tremendously. German doesn't have the population behind it that English, Spanish and French do.

Ancelotti spoke a very nominal amount of German - did he ever actually use it in training? I imagine it would have been much more productive for the German players to speak English with him. Regardless of whether Kovac deserves the bulk of the blame for Bayern's results this season, being a German who played briefly for the club surely helped him get the job.

To me the biggest problem with Bayern isn't coaching, but rather that too many of their influential core players are old, declining, complacent, and/or selfish. They should have cleaned house this past offseason, or at least brought in younger replacements.

Kovac is the easy target and is therefore being blamed for the current situation but that is non-sense. If he was such a bad coach then he wouldn't have taken Frankfurt to where they are now; would't have beaten Bayern in the cup final if he wasn't tactically adept. Kovac and Bobic have laid out a great foundation with a very good core making it easier on Adi Hutter to come in and take it to the next level developmentally.

Kovac came to Bayern to inherit an aging roster that has been neglected too long in terms of upgrades. Currently, Boateng and Hummels are black holes defensively and Ribery and Robben should not be everyday starters at a club of that caliber considering their age. Unfortunately, Kovac is not able to handle all the egos in that dressing room coupled with the even larger egos in the front office and it's his demise in the making.

It also needs to be said that they have several injuries (among them the replacements for Robben/Ribery) coupled with results not going their way. We'd have problems without Reus, Witsel or Paco as well. The 3 games against Freiburg, Düsseldorf and us are the difference for them between being first and being fifth. They'd still have the same problems, of course.

Kovac wasn’t even first choice....he’s second rate at best and an obvious “caretaker” till a more pedigreed coach can be acquired

If I had my way he leaves before James does
