The first conception of which began with TORPEDO over on the FSU boards and has now sprouted into a very competitive little game, and I hope the same can be said for our little game here. The process is simple. Each week, you post your match-predictions and simply predict the outcome of the match. For each prediction you get right you scored one goal. Your aim is to out-score your opponent (basically out-predict) Every score you get spot on, i.e the score-line, you will get one bonus point for that match. So there is a possibility of scoring 20 points in one week. As a quick change to the rules, you must post score predictions. I have decided to have them counted as a way of livening it up a bit. Just post your predictions in this thread. Simple. Let me do the rest. Now, whilst I can appreciate that everyone here has a life outside BigSoccer. Yes, yes…I know, stop laughing. I can fully understand people having troubles about trying to get all of their predictions in. Given personal circumstances, you can post predictions for any week, whenever you like. If you want to post 3 weeks worth or just the one, then that is fine. If you want to post all 38 - I won’t stop you. But I will get annoyed…lol. To make sure that you are up to date with all the fixtures here is the full Ligue 1 fixture list for the 2005/06 season. http://www.footpro.fr/calendrier/Ligue_1_Orange_2005_2006.htm I would recommend that you save it and keep it on your hard-drive as a little reminder, when match days are coming up. I will normally post the upcoming fixtures in this thread, so you won’t have to rely on memory for every post. By a rule of thumb, I would recommend getting them in by Friday Morning. Some Ligue 1 games kick-off at around 13:00 EST on a Friday. If you manage to miss a Friday match or an early Saturday match - don’t panic. You can still score some points by posting your predictions for matches that have not yet kicked off. In the unlikely event that certain games are called off in Ligue 1, that game is annulled from the prediction count. However if that postponed match was a game in which one of your teams were playing - we carry on as normal and everyone plays each other each week. No games in the Fantasy league are postponed. Mid-week match days also count. But midweek makeup matches do not… If you forgot to post, your ‘goal count’ will be the amount of goals your real-life team has scored that week-end x2. So if your team is Lyon, and Lyon score 3, then your score shall be counted as 6. 'Gifted goals' such as this DO NOT count on the top-scorers list at the end of the season. Again. Don’t worry with the rules, it will all make sense when we have all posted. Leave the worrying to me. You guys just post predictions. After each week, I shall post the real-life scores and subsequent Fantasy League scores. Then all shall be made into a neat little table. Whoever finishes top of the league shall win. The person who scores the most goals (i.e - points), shall also win. All I can say now, is have fun.. Btw: Can I also add, that a by a strange coincidence of fate, I shall be away in Las Vegas for probably the final match day. So I could well, buy a neat gift for our overall winner. I’m hoping I can muster together some prizes for our top three finishers and overall top-scorer. And possibly a wooden spoon for our last placed finisher! Something French of course! Maybe a nice bottle of Bordeaux or maybe a Les Bleus football shirt! Well, we will have a few weeks to figure this one out… Enjoy!
