Naive and thick headed to expect pure athleticism to produce great soccer players. Xavi, Iniesta, messi, zico were and are on the smaller side, the list goes on and on. First learn to dribble and control a ball. In fact ball hogging should be encouraged from a young age to vett out the untalented kids.

6'1" Cristiano Ronaldo and 6'5" Zlatan Ibrahimovic say, "Hi!"

    You're adorable.

The USMNT's average height has been in the bottom half in most of the World Cups in the modern era. Not sure where you get the idea that the US selects for size and strength.
