I'm going to have to try to catch some of these matches, that was an entertaining recap video filled with players I give a shit about. Also A+ on Ayuk's standing backflip. Richmond's keeper seemed awful in that video
I only watched a few minutes of the game on Sunday, so not really sure how his complete performance was, but that shot from Real in the highlights is pretty exciting... considering Trusty looks legit, Elliot seems to be avoiding a sophomore slump and Rosenberry appears to be back in action maybe young Matthew is the final piece to that puzzle. I was not expecting to have this many positive feelings about the young back line.

Bethlehem Steel off to a pretty lousy start... 5 points in 6 games. Lost to Louisville yesterday, but I guess they are the best team in the league... Epps scores in the 3-1 loss. Attendance seems way down too... which is a bummer... Lehigh Valley should be able to pull in much more than just over 1k per game. I know winning and attendance aren’t important for this team’s purpose... but worth noting I guess.
Dude had no business being in the conversation in the first place... he’s a 2nd round superdraft pick.. the fact that he was ever being considered by people is just a sorry commentary on who the Union are.
Ummm.....since when has Epps been considered anything other then a winger/wide midfielder? They’ve played Ayuk at the 10 for BSFC before. If Epps was played at the 10in this game it was purely because 5hey don’t have anyone else to play there at the moment. The Union played the same day at home, so Fontana was unavailable.
I was thinking of Najem. Just another on the pile of young Union prospects that come to nothing. And yes I'm prepared for Jay's "Ummm... you do realize most young prospects come to nothing, right???!?" response.
That's why the Union need a real sugar daddy! So they can go out and buy the finished products, and not depend so heavily on youth development.
4-0 win over TFC2 last night... seems like they are having a solid season. One of the better reserve teams for sure.
this is delayed, but should probably show some love to the Steel... this game against Pittsburgh looked like it was a blast. Louisville up next.
1 hour until kick off. Baby Bulls knock off Cincy.... could be Steel v. Red Bull 2 in the East Final if they win.
I've got two sources telling me that Bethlehem Steel will be leaving Lehigh University this coming season because Goodman Stadium no longer meets USL "standards"— Kevin Kinkead (@Kevin_Kinkead) November 12, 2018 Whelp.... You made 0 effort to keep club here. ZERO. No marketing efforts. No effort to truly connect with the local community. In true Union fashion, you put a team up here and just expected people shown up. The entire Union FO, from the owner down, is a joke. pic.twitter.com/d5pyAZaQti— EastEndArmy (@EastEndArmySG) November 12, 2018 At least they didn’t fold it all together.. but no way in hell do they ever return to Lehigh Valley with penny pincher Jay as the owner. From a Union perspective this may actually be good... from a Bethlehem perspective I feel sorry for the people up there.
Seems like something that could have been fixed in the offseason. Couldn't Lehigh U and/or the Union just buy lights for the field?
They only put it there so they could capture Bethlehem Steel marketing anyway. Should have always played in Philly.
Which would've been worse ... the incessant music being played during the run of play* or the drone of diesel-powered generator lights? * I don't know if they actually do that ... just making shit up to prove my point.
From earlier this decade: https://www.lehighvalleylive.com/th...f/2012/10/lighting_at_goodman_poses_a_pr.html Quote to look at is "For us to play night games, we'd not only need lights for the stadium, but we'd need to light most of our parking areas and access pathways to the stadium". Later in the article they bring up the cost would be in the hundred of thousands of dollars. So outside of the school not wanting the costs associated with it, I doubt they want to have to deal with all the construction that would take place just for someone else to use their stadium.
