In everyone's opinion, which XI should be the starters for the World Cup?

The way thins are going, I would want to see Lozano get the start over Vela on the wings. Better yet, this attack would be epic to see when we need a goal.

    Tecatito------Vela------Lozano
    ----------Cheech-----------

    *or Jimenez over Cheech.

We really need to sort out the defense, our forwards could be lethal on a good day.

The only thing I'm sure about is that both Tecatito & Lozano HAS TO start together in the XI.

I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to formations but I feel that the following players should start:

    Defense: Alvarez-Moreno-Araujo-Layun
    Midfield: Herrera-Jonathan Dos Santos-Guardado- Tecatito
    Forwards- Vela and Jimenez

Lozano or Tecatito could be a super Sub along with Cheech.

I wasn't trolling, I was looking for an honest answer. If I wanted to troll I would have said that in the rivalry forum. I haven't been following the sport as often this year so I wasn't sure of his current situation.

Alvarez over Reyes for the holding midfield in your first lineup?

I mean I don’t disagree because I think Alvarez is going to be an excellent player for Mexico soon but Reyes brings the already known experience and familiarity at the position on the NT level. How did Alvarez leap’d frog Reyes’ position?

In an ideal world, if Jona’s form isn’t badly ruin by the time WC begins, I love to see him in the middle with those guys.

Reyes has been tried there a few times and his performance has been mixed. He's got everything to make that role his but he does lack a bit of bite which is crucial for that position and his anticipation skills are better served in a CB role than as a 5.

Alvarez has demonstrated a combination of defensive bite, positioning and ability to get rid of the ball quickly and cleanly whereas Reyes is guilty of taking too many touches at times.

Salcedo will be the right back, people need to accept it. You may disagree with this but I don't believe Osorio will change his tune on this. With Salcedo as RB and Alvarez in the middle, this is probably the best defensive unit Mexico can put out in a competitive game, I would even say that Araujo and Reyes are our strongest CB partnership but I don't see Osorio sitting Moreno so the above is what we will most likely see.

As to your question, it's not that Alvarez has leapfrogged Reyes for that position, it's that Osorio has a very defined style that he is looking for and the only who meets nearly all the requirements is Alvarez. I expect to see him in that role in one of the two upcoming friendlies.

What are the chances that Paul Aguilar makes a return to the NT at RB?

Agree with IMD about Alvarez at CDM. He goes for the simple outlet pass when pressured and prioritizes safety over attacking. When he has time to look up and isn't pressured his long passes have been great. Herrera was caught to many times losing the ball in dangerous positions and it's clear he is wasted at that spot.

Need to see Alvarez more and against better competition but he looks promising for that spot.

    What about:

    3-3-1-3

    ------------------------Ochoa---------------------------
    ----------Araujo------Reyes-------Moreno----------
    Salcedo-----------Guardado-----------------Layun
    --------------------------Herrera------------------------

Osorio’s 3-4-1-2 uses Salcedo as the RCB, not as a wingback. Aquino and Damm have played that role in that formation.

Also, that formation under Osorio uses a dual CM pairing of Herrera and Guardado where they are tasked with keeping balance and getting the ball to the attackers as quickly as possible.

I’m sure you all have noticed that Vela and Gio have been given the free roaming attacking mid role in that formation.

We can all agree or disagree with the above but again, I don’t see Osorio changing his mind.

I don't see Damm starting but Aquino has played on the left wingback position and is capable although it would be a much attacking lineup if he were to play there. Aquino as LWB and Layun as RWB is another possible option? I do agree Osorio has set his mind more to a Back 4 indeed

Gio is nothing more than a bench, he doesnt have the stamina to be a starter. Gio deff has the skill to play thats why i think he would make a great super sub. Its sad that Fabian is injured im sure he couldv easily taken over Gios role with the form he had pre - injury.
