    Call me when Portugal
Wins a cup with 11/14 players from Benfica academy cause that's what happened in 2016 except with sporting

I am just busting balls , I rate Bernardo silva highly as well as Sanches and cancelo. The Benfica academy has stepped up and Portugal national teams are benefitting from it .

This is the first time in over a decade that CR7 is very arguably not the best Portuguese player. Bernardo has arguably been a Top 3 player in Europe this season. Incredible.

Media is starting to blow up his value from 70M to 100M.

Crazy how much power media pundits have but in this case, you wouldn't be crazy to admit its a justifiable price.

I'm curious as to how CR7 handles that. I think Santos will be there to let him know it was gunna happen eventually. Couldn't be on top forever. He's shown more maturity as of late that makes me more hopeful of him not being petulant Lol

Justifiable completely in the current market. The market is crazy and this transfer wouldn't be an outlier. Regardless of value, he's very, very talented. He has at least Rui Costa level talent. That is big for us.

Top 3? I would say top 20-25 which is still amazing.

He is considered the best player in Ligue 1, by far. No one is especially lighting it up this season. He has now led his team to the CL quarter finals, eliminating a more favorited team. His contribution has been immense.

Monaco is a hell of a fun team to watch. Lots of talent and everybody seems to be <23. They seem to be having a ton of fun out there. One of my favorites teams to watch right now.
They completely dominated Man City in that 1st half - City didn't even get a shot. Part of it was using the speedy young guys to pressure the hell out of City.
Bernardo had significant role in that - I think he had the most tackles on the team, at least in the 1st half. He shows pretty great defensive anticipation for a player who is known for his offensive technical skills.
And he added his 3rd assist in as many games.
He's not going to last at Monaco another season. In fact, Monaco is going to be raided - all the young guns are going to Spain and EPL guaranteed. And they are not strong enough defensively to be able to compete for the CL - but they will make it interesting whoever they draw next. I think they have the most goals besides Barca in Europe.

How could anyone seriously believe Bernardo is top 3?

Messi Neymar Suarez alone is higher than him lol

Bernardo right now is maybe between 10 and 20.

This is what I think Monaco could get if they sell some of their players:

    Bernardo 60M+
    Mbappé 60M+ (next year)
    Lemar 40M+
    Fabinho 3oM+
    Mendy 30M+
    Boschilla 30M+
    Sidibé 25M+
    Bakayoko 25M+
    Jermerson 20M+ (unsure)
    Falcao 20M+ (China)
    Germain 15M+
    Moutinho 10+

    Total 365M Euros

Gomes is garbage and on his way to bust status. Renato is overrated and can't get minutes, Coentrao is a Rio Ave product, and Gaitan is Boca Juniors product.

That being said, Benfica has been producing some great talent though in Bernardo, Cancelo, etc. Good to see them contributing to the National Team.

Bernardo Top 3 LMFAO. The Benfica dick-gargling continues. He's been amazing, but top 3?!?! Put the crack pipe down.

On Modric, I think although Bernardo has been largely used on the wing he could be a very good replacement (in time) for Modric who is 31 now. I would prefer Barcelona but Barcelona has been a graveyard for Portuguese players save Figo and Gomes seems set to follow the course.

Bernardo, as good as he has been, has not been one of the best 3 players in Europe, come on.

    Easily top 15/20 though, easily.

When he has the free role to roam its great to watch.

Champions League, Last 16, Wednesday 15 March 2017, Stade Louis II

    A.S. Monaco 3 (Mbappé 8', Fabinho 29', Bakayoko 77')

    Manchester City F.C. 1 (Sané 71')

Bernardo started and finished while Moutinho replaced Mbappé at 81'. Bernardo assisted (3rd in 3 games) Mbappé on the first goal after good work from Mendy. Mendy then assisted Fabinho for the second in a first half dominated by Monaco. However in the second half it started out being under Manchester City domination with chances falling to Sterling (passed to Agüero instead), Agüero who ballooned his shot after good work from Sané who was M. City's best player in both legs and Agüero again, this time his shot was saved by Subašić making amends for his frango in the first leg. Sané finally made the pressure count with a goal. At this time I though Monaco were going to crack and as in the first leg I thought that Jardim was taking too much time to make changes. I thought Bakayoko who was having a average game should be replaced by Moutinho. However a few minutes later Bakayoko scored and Moutinho replaced Mbappé. Monaco in Europe has beaten all English teams over two legs that they have faced and beat Tottenham home and away 2-1 in this years group stage.
