Dagoods love idol (Maldini) got me on this one. When Santana was in charge of Brazil he absolutely loved Junior. He always played him when available it appeared. I am just wondering who were those unlucky players who would have played in any team but Brazil's if they were not scond choice to excellence. Pedrinho was Junior's back up in 1982. How good was he? Falmengo fans will say that Adilio should have played more than the one time he played for Brazil - but up against Cerezo and his ilk..... What other examples are there please?

Forget the "Dagoods love idol (Maldini) got me on this one. " part - he - Dagoods - is a member of another futebol forum and I forgot to take it out when I pasted it!!

    Chicago USA
    Club:
    Flamengo Rio Janeiro
    Nat'l Team:
    United States
    Denilson

    O.K. I'm blindly pro-Denilson, but its not
    the point.

Denilson really didn't get that much playing
time in the World Cup because he was playing
behind Rivaldo. If its not Rivaldo, its Roberto
Carlos creeping into midfield and beyond. There's
just too much talent on the left side- Denilson is stuck behind two "greats."

Basically, the one-time world's most expensive player coming off an incredible year with Betis (forget 1998-2000) can't get a game in the first 89 mintues.

On ANY other team in the world, he would be a
starting left winger OR forward in the World Cup.

Betis could be the team of the season in Spain. Such pace.
