Zidane himself was never known for being a gym rat or for his work rate, he was simply more gifted than everyone else (except R9 who additionally without spending a minute in the gym had the physical disposition of an Olympic triathelete).
true points. But nowadays more than ever you’re seeing athletes in the gym & really taking care of their bodies better than ever before.
Except that apparently Hazard doesn't do any of that which is why we are discussing it. It's funny because the longer Zidane coaches the more he contradicts himself. James went into his doghouse after a few weeks back in 2016 for a less than stellar work ethic and never made his way out. Meanwhile we're 3 months into the season and Hazard is yet to break a sweat and Zidane's completely unbothered by it, because hey some players can only play themselves into shape and 25 hours a day in the gym could never help them.
Football of the Zidane days was not as physically intense as these days. Those days we had players who smoked and were drunk the night before games
Mario Basler fussball Gott. Dude came on the training field with a lit smoke. I think he told Rehhagel "coach, if I score from here, can I go back home?" Rehhagel says yes, he scores from the corner flag "cool, see you guys tomorrow".
Zidane has always been in shape even to this day. I say with 100% seriousness he could still probably play a match at the top level today and do pretty well.
Eden Hazard : « J'ai toujours dit non au PSG » https://t.co/m3o0USMj8x pic.twitter.com/Q8YVp2Z283— L'ÉQUIPE (@lequipe) November 21, 2019 Hazard says PSG tried to recruit him multiple times but he rejected them
Imagine the shape he’d have shown up to pre season in if he’d moved to a club for who he wasn’t gagging for a decade to play for.
When I'm on vacation, I'm on vacation. I got back weighing 80 kgs." Gotta change that attitude as he's getting close to 30.
Indeed that is why a LeBron or CR7 are still top of the top at their age. Also the supplementation became far better. And the know how of training and injury prevention. Although I really have my doubts seeing some of our teammembers training. I saw a vid of Asensio doing some basic fitness stuff and the way the excercises were performed was nothing more than horrible.
Coming back from vacation at that weight is at the very best unprofessional. A bigger problem for me is the looooong time it took him to lose that weight and he's still not in the shape he should be. I mean, you train every day, you play games every 4-5 days and you still aren't in the weight you should be? He's either slacking in training, not eating properly or both.
Even if he didn't, all he needed to do was not completely pig out. 80 kg at 1.75m when he barely has any muscle mass. And tbh I think he was over that weight.
Guy is pure magic, slowly but surely regaining what made him one of the best in the world, the weight loss has allowed him to now get on the end of those quick sjhift in acceleration, all thats lacking is goals but they will come.
