Kübler should be the likeliest candidate. I read on a Schalke fan forum, where people speculated that Florian Krüger should be sent out on loan similar to Reese and Wright. Which wouldn't be a bad idea, and he could use some experience. Their LB Lennart Czyborra looks like he could become a solid pro in a few years. Benjamin Goller, Timon Weiner, and Nasim Boujellab are decent prospects I could see moving to their reserve side for now.
what about Fleckstein and Wiemann? Naldo is getting older and too many rumors of Kehrer leaving Schalke. I recall those 2 U19 defenders participating with the 1st team at some point, might have been during the March International break? but in terms of Winter camp, Tedesco called up Kubler, Kruger and Czyborra.

I forgot 95-Max Meyer (lol) and 98-M.Baku (Turkish 1st) for Oztunali mixture of stagnation and playing all over field. One reason, not a huge fan on flexible players is risk of playing all over place and you don't really master any position. Meyer is another who played all over place, DM, CM,AM, W.
also Meyer and Oztunali fit 1-efficiency problem in top level, poor 2-Look good vs kids in U17-U19 club league and U21 NT but can't replicate that at club levels vs adults one reason to be wary of youth clubs stats.

I think the Amin Younes situation is a shame. For the most part he's shown himself as a worthy Bundesliga level player but just seems to get screwed career wise. Joined Napoli after leaving Ajax but that move never ended being very favourable situation for him, despite a reasonably productive second half of his first season there after he became healthy. His second season there just looked to be mired in lack of fitness or other health or form issues. He was okay for Frankfurt last season, but the whole thing about him nearly going to Saudi Arabia was a huge mess.
