No joke, the first thing on the front page of 'Unskewedpolls.com' is now...

    Coming Soon: ConservativeReform.com

    ...followed by a link to...

A mandate for the food stamps president

Which opens with the following two paragraphs:

There is -so- much ignorance, -so- much hatred, -so- much denial, -so- much childishness, -so- many delusions, and -so- much very, very thinly veiled race-baiting imagery in these two paragraphs alone, that all I can say is... :D

    Unskewed my arse! :p

They say "nanny state" like it's a bad thing.

But nannies are expensive! Rich white people have nannies! Nannies raise your kids while you're making money! Aren't those good things?

And sometimes you get to bang the nannies on the side, like the banks bang our government.

Does anyone know why it's taking 3+ days to count all the votes in west coast when it took just couple of hours for almost all the votes in Texas (and other Republican areas) to be counted? Three days after the election 29% of the votes in California and 45% in Washington state are still left to be counted!

The night of the election I've seen a massive misleading campaign with many articles (and threads in forums) trying to make people think Obama already lost the popular vote. Even a day later they were claiming it was just a narrow win. According to CNN and MSNBC's election trackers, Obama's lead in popular vote is now over 3.2 mil (51%-48%) but should grow to over 4 million (not quite a mandate but not a narrow win either) when 100% the votes are tallied, which at this rate should take a month or so..

For one thing, much, much higher use of mail-in ballots in the West. Those take a long time to process, matching signatures and such.

Some of California's propositions are very close, aren't they? In which case they have to process most or all of the provisionals, which can take time.

In Washington it is because our ballots just have to be postmarked by midnight on Election Day, rather than received by the end of Election Day. So, in WA, at least, it can be several days for a good portion of the ballots to come in.

Non-black voters in those areas tend to skew Democratic, as well. A place like East Cleveland, OH (pop 17K), is 7% non-black, and Romney only got about 2% of the vote.

Are there part of the country where the anti-Dem skew is equally severe? I honestly don't know.

I can speak for Washington state only - ballots only had to be postmarked by election day so they were still rolling in on Thursday and Friday.

I think that Washington needs to have an earlier date for mailing them in and simply set up a bunch of drop off points, the way that Oregon does. That way all the ballots will have been received by election day.

The way WA does it is ridiculous, in my opinion. On the other hand, I received my ballot weeks beforehand and it wasn't a hardship to mail it in with ample time to spare.
