    Okay. To summarize:

    Brazil's average player salary: $120,000
    Argentina's average player salary: $100,000
    Columbia's average player salary: $60-70,000

Elite/top players make about 5-10 times more than the average salary.

If you disagree with the above, please fill in the blank

    Brazil's average player salary: ___________
    Argentina's average player salary: __________
    Columbia's average player salary: ___________

I highy doubt the average salary in Argentina is 100.000 dollar a year(pre-tax?) I think about half.

South Americans in the MLS offourse get paid somewhere around 200.000-300.000 dollar a year as they are foreigners.

I think that as an average it's accurate, i thought that the average of the Brasileirão players was higher than that though, or that at least it had more difference than the one of Argentina.

I don't know how it could be compared with MLS average, it's known that Schelotto, for example, had a salary drop when he moved there.

in brazil we have 2 standards in brazil.

the big 12 plus goiás and atlético paranaense normally pay very well, and have at least 10 players that earn more than 50k per month.

the other teams, have 1 or 2 players that earn 50k.

    sorry i put 50k in Real, U$ 25.000.

i think the average player earn 250k per year in brazil.
in lower teams he could earn 150k and in big teams 350k per year.

and 350k per year isn't a "big" salary in brazilian soccer. you're at the top level in our league if you reach U$ 65k per month.

by the way, U$ 350k per year is R$ 48k per month (U$ 27k) = one year of salary for the most brazilian workers.

and with U$ 5k you can live a very confortable life in some cities in brazil.

Huachipato just signed Henry Lapczyk from Olimpia.
Apparently, he's like the 4th choice Gk for Paraguay.
At any rate, he will be making US $8,000/mo. Not bad, considering this is a small team.

One simply cannot use soccer salary figures in our countries and bring that into the median/avrg. stats of our economies. ;)

    Yes, exactly

No, all of then are considerated equally Big. but Vasco, Flamengo, Corinthians, São paulo and Palmeiras have more media coverage and national wide supporters fan base.
Fluminense, santos and botafogo have national penetration but in a small proportion (<1% in almost all states.)

The teams from Porto Alegre and Belo Horizonte have more regional fanbases (10 million+ in each region).
