Is there any link with more info on this World Cup of Australian Football? I can't find any info on it through Google searches.

If there is no single site, would anyone care to provide more info? For example, which year, venues, countries participating, and standings? (Maybe in a separate post.)

BTW, I just came across this website:

    http://iafc.com.au/

    and:

    http://www.iafc.com.au/intlcup.html

Is this what is being referred to as the World Cup?

There is a lot of information on this website on attempts to sell Australian Football outside of Australia. But I'm not sure how frequently this site is updated. For example, checking the news about India, it's almost a year old.

Here is a somewhat updated international list:

Sorry, straying away from the original topic, but related to previous few posts.

Have not been here for a few days,

Here are some topics to think about ---

The AFL has a Development Budget for Domestic use in 8 States and Territories of A$18 million dollars- by far the biggest in any sport in Oz

The AFL has a international Budget of about A$360,000 dollars for junior dev mainly in USA and NZ - That will answer many questions.

The AFL and the Gaelic Athletic Association have put money into a fund to develop the hybrid International Rules concept. The idea being to expand the series to include possibly UK and USA.

Everything that happens in International Aussie Rules is self funded -code for no money except local sponsorship.

The World Cup for AR is on next year in Melb. The AFL will host it once the teams get there. All teams have to find their own sponsorship or funding for travel. Some countries will not travel because of this.

Chandu, glad you found my AR International News web site updated every 2 days. Thanx for the promotion.
