Here's the update from Columbus next to their Arena District. Much better than the first set of renderings.
Very nice. Very nice, indeed. Of course, I would warn any Crew lurkers not to get your rocks-off too hard over a set of "artist's renderings." We-here on Big Soccer DCU unfortunately know the words to THAT sad tune.
If I put the overt/under on the roof actually looking close to that at 45% - where would the most action be?
That's comparable to their current venue although everything about it will be a significant upgrade. The current venue will become a training facility and public fields. Here are slightly larger images since it was too late for me to edit the previous post. I'm taking the over on the canopies being similar (not necessarily the same) to renderings because here was the unrealistic first rendering of a concept. Canopies are an expected part of venues now.
So does this mean it'll be near different, nicer, hotels now? Will there still be a McDonalds to drunkenly stumble toward and be treated rudely by employees at? I kinda like where the current one is, it's easy to get in/out of without having to go inside Columbus itself.
Its kinda nice to see what you can do when you're given as much land as you want. When you're given a dinky brownfield that nobody else wants it kinda limits your options.
The night aerial rendering looks shockingly similar what graced the cover of a DCU game program some years ago.
Different skyline, same stadium design*, or something that's about 90% the same as the first Buzzard Point renderings. *for now.
"way more interesting stadium" news We’re #ComingHome Loudoun County!🏠Check out more stadium updates on our site here!🖤❤️https://t.co/r4Ctm38288 pic.twitter.com/epdrOIkJR7— Loudoun United FC (@LoudounUnitedFC) December 7, 2018
The XFL is the final nail in the coffin on my decision NOT to renew my season tix. I’ll be happy to be proven wrong, but my guess is the pitch will look like shit as a result. Waited years for this stadium, only to see its best attribute ass-raped by some moronic NFL wanna-be shitshow.
I'm not all that worried about the XFL messing up the pitch too bad - I'm more worried about the lacrosse people they're talking to, it is way worse on the middle of the pitch than 5 XFL games will be (probably). Football is mostly people standing around.
Nope, not yet. Those'll be installed during Year 2, right after they get done installing the missing roof panels at Audi. Both stadia are slated to get unicorn paddocks during the 2021-2023 timeframe.
did they present all renderings for zoning commission like they did with Audi Field? maybe we can see more about the facilities like those PDFs we used to have
I will volunteer to brush and feed the Loudoun unicorns. No one will judge me for always eating skittles on my way out will they?
