It can be CQ's system that he is not effective enough but we have many options in his position unlike CM. So I am not worried whenever he is not available. Taremi is not winger. He is a central forward and he needs to have 10 chances to score 1. For some reasons, CQ likes him so much.

In this video, that head was Azmoun's head not Ansarifard. For me, he is almost a useless player in the squad and we have better players than him.

I think Ansarifard is a wasted talent, he didn't grow to what we thought. He is replaceable.

Personally I will send Cheshmi, Khanzadeh, Montazeri, Ansarifard, Rezaian, Shojai, Abedzadeh home and replace them with better players from Europe or PGPL. I don't know why CQ has some sort of attachment to them.

Nourollahi is a good DM not as good and solid as Saeed but better than Kamyabinia or Ali Karimi (sep). Now that Saeed is injured we should use 2 DMs with Omid and Ahmad for bunker style and one of them plus Hajisafi/Deja as CM for more offensive game plan. Saman is a good CM/AMF too.

If Taremi is in form he should play as second striker behind Azmoun. He used to play well with Alipour back in his Persepolis days. I regret we don't have Kaveh with us he was a good replacement for Gucci and a natural finnisher. Do you see any person to fill out his shoes? This is a big question for me. If Azmoun has a bad day we have no answer up in front.

Hosseini was a great GK but Rahmati's mafia in SS kept him on the bench for a long time despite hosseini's superior talent, he is showing some signs of decline now, even receiving a goal from the likes of Palestine. He should join a good team and play as first keeper to keep his form and stop wasting his youth on SS bench. Rahmati alone destroyed the future of so many good goal keepers in SS by using his powerful lobby. Vahid Talebloo, Mohsen Forozan and now Hosseini are his victims.

Our first choice CBs are rock solid. Both Majid and PAG are in good form. I thank CQ for Majid. Now our problem is their replacement. Kanaani had two serious knee injuries so he is an injury prone player plus he is not smart. He is heavy and slow. I think CQ should have given a chance in boot camp to Ryan Tafazolli who plays in English League one. He is 196 and a solid CB. Shoja in Persepolis is a fighter sort of CB but he has a temper issue and can receive red card or give away PK which is a disadvantage. Do you see any good CB beside Majid and PAG? Cheshmi is horrible as CB and Montazeri is old.

Montazeri should be in the Asian Cup squad but should say goodbye to the international duty after AC 2019 and he will say most likely. Cheshmi is useful as DM. If we play with 2 DM, Cheshmi can play next to Ebrahimi (Nourolahi). I keep Rezaeian and Moharami as my 2 RB but move Ghafouri to RW position. I agree with you about Abedzadeh, Shojaei (He will retire from international duty after AC 2019 most likely), Khanzadeh, and Ansarifard.

The second striker should have creativity and good technique like Ali Karimi or Khodadad Azizi. Taremi lacks that. He should be used as second/third choice for central forward position. Gucci is gone and Kaveh Rezaei will miss the AC due to injury. If Gucci or Kaveh were available I would have dropped Taremi from the squad.

I do not Rate Beiranvand higher than Hosseini, if Hosseini is in form. IMO Hosseini is our most talented goalkeeper.

I knew about Majid Hosseini before WC 2018. He played in U17 WC 2013 as well. Unlike many of you guys, before the WC I hoped that CQ takes Majid Hosseini to the World Cup instead of Jalal Hosseini.

If Gholizadeh, Jahanbakhsh, and Kaveh Rezaei misses the AC due to injury like Ezatolahi, my squad for AC 2019 would be as follows:

    GKs: Beiranvand, Hosseini, Niazmand

CBs: Majid Hosseini, Pouraliganji, Montazeri, Khalilzadeh (I know CQ never pick him), Kanaanizadegan

    RB: Rezaeian, Moharami

    LB: Mohammadi, sadly Hajsafi

    DM: Ebrahimi, Cheshmi, Nourolahi

    Wingers: Dejagah, Ghafouri, Amiri, Torabi

Forwards: Ghoddos (Should play behind Central Forward), Azmoun, sadly Taremi cuz Rezaei is unavailable and Gucci is gone, and Alipour

If any of those three players Gholizadeh, Jahanbakhsh, Rezaei recovers fully from the injury for Asian Cup, then I drop Taremi from the squad.

Taremi as a center forward is a death wish, he gives us heart attack. As a Persepolis fan I know Taremi plays better as second striker. He is creative and has decent technique, and a good physic which makes him successful on aerial challenges but his conversion ratio is very poor which makes him a bad choice for center forward.

There are rumors that following players has been dropped from the list.

Alipour, Khanzadeh, Hosseini, and Karimi. I am just sorry for Hosseini and Alipour they are both better than Ansarifard and Abedzadeh.

Kanaani is not a good CB he plays for machine sazi. Montazeri is always injured, and pretty old. I don't have any problem with Cheshmi as DM but I rate Ebrahimi and Nourollahi better than him in that department. I am pretty sure Moharami was injured and a bench warmer for Dinamo Zagreb otherwise he was fast, young and technical back in Persepolis.

I would take Ghafouri over Rezaian in RB position because Ghafouri is better defensively. Rezaian has been without club for long time until he landed on QSL a couple months ago. He is also not that good defensively. He is better as RW in my opinion. (WC the whole team was defending and it doesn't count in Ramin's advantage as a defender bc no European team gave him any offer after WC).

Regard Taremi, as you said his conversion ratio is very poor and he is not winger. His creativity and technique is nowhere near Ali Karimi or Khodadad Azizi. I think he is almost useless. For second striker, we need someone more creative like Ghoddos, Gholizadeh, or even Amiri.

We need to have at least 3 DM in the team. That is why I take all of these three players Ebrahimi, Cheshmi, and Nourolahi to the AC.

Btw, I am not very excited about this upcoming AC. I am almost careless about the outcome. I am more concerned about post Asian Cup and federation's decisions. As I said before IMO we need a new decent coach with new style/ideas after this upcoming AC.

We will see what will happen in less than a month.

Most certainly we have no one even close to level of Ali Karimi or Khodadad in creativity or technique. In fact that is a void in our team since both Karimi and Khalatbari retired/dropped by CQ back in 2013-2014.

There are 3 players who have some creativity or exciting stlye and they are Torabi, Saman and Gholizadeh whom one is injured.

I agree with everything you said except Khalatbari. I never thought he was a creative player with good technique. Although he scored couple good goals but I always thought he was a below average player even for IPL standards.

Khalat was a fast and creative player certainly good enough for PGPL and to be picked up by CQ for NT, he was just so in love with money and was chasing after better contract one season after another that's why he didn't have a proper fan base behind him. He lacked club loyalty, and was dumped by CQ right before WC 2014 because of his small stature. As you know CQ loves tall and physically strong players and has less respect for technically gifted short players. Obviously he was not as good or creative as AK or KA.

Gholizadeh was cut because of injury. Kaveh didn't make it too. Alipour was cut to keep Taremi and Karim? :( We have only Azmoun to rely on. Please don't get injured in up coming friendly. Azmoun is a bacheh nane and we should rely on. It is so shaky. :whistling::unsure:

I hope to not hear any more injury news. Currently Omid Ebrahimi seems the most irreplaceable player for me. IMO we should not use the same line up in every single game. We need to rotate the line up.

Keeping kanaani, Montazeri, Abedzadeh Ansarifard and injured JB and crossing off Alipour and Hosseini is puzzling me. Now that Azmoun is injured we have no good center forward. Alipour is a better CF than Taremi or Ansarifard. If Kaveh was in our team I wouldn't mind crossing Alipour but now, it sounds stupid.

The only good news is that Khanzadeh is out, the guy was among our WC and last AC squad just because of his connection with Saman Bank which is CQ's sponsor. (500k $ a year for ads) He had no business in Team Melli and had no merits.

Fortunately Azmoun's injury was not serious. He is back in training sessions.

In media, he has been the coach of at least 7 teams in last 5 years. I never believe anything unless it is 100% confirmed.

After last World Cup, I thought Bento and Bilic are good candidates for post Asian Cup but both of them are not available anymore. Gerardo Martino and Paul Le Guen are available now for post Asian Cup if CQ leaves. There have been rumors that Branko Ivankovic will be back after Asian Cup. He is the most qualified IPL coach but I prefer bigger and new foreign coach. What do you think?

I take Branko over any Iranian coach, but he is not good enough for us if we want to aim for WC 2022. He will ease up on defense and bring back the old exciting offensive football that we are dying to see once again but he lacks the dicipline/charisma and Sepahi thugs know how to manipulate him from 2006 when the likes of rasool khatibi could be among our squad.

It's time to win the trophy after 43 years. Now our strength is miles ahead of other AFC teams and we showed it in the WC. The only obstacle Iran has to go through is Japan but still they are meh. We can beat anyone in Asia if we are able to play evenly with the likes of Spain and Portugal. South Korea is just our punching bag. I'm not worried about Son at all. He is always crap when playing for NT and even our U-21 defenders shut him up in the Asian games. The main reason he does well in EPL is that he is surrounded by good players and he can't do anything alone. Australia was the worst AFC team in the WC. The 0-8ers are just 0-8ers. Anything less than a championship is a disappointment.

Branko Ivankovic is a better manager than 2006. There are rumors that If they go with IPL coaches, he is the top candidate. Do you take Branko over Kranjcar as well?

Carlos should have called up beikzadeh instead of masoud because he is a better leader and can score against arogh like he did with his goal in the legendary 2007 waff final

Well if there is no other choice, then Branko is better than Kranjar. Kranjar has gone off tangent for few years. He was good back with Sepahan but apparently he has lost his mojo.

I saw the Vietnamese team and they seems good but lack the physical strength. Their defense line is easy to break.
