Yeah I saw that too. From 2006. So at least back then UEFA allowed 2 teams with white shorts. Things may be different at UEFA now?

If you go back to the 1970's you'll find shots of us playing in our normal red & white against Leeds in all white. But that's 40 years ago.

Is there really no other precedent??

[he asks while he's trying to ignore the fact that we are losing 0-2 to the first every Swedish side to make it this far in Europe! At our own home!]

Jesus Arsene Wenger was bolting right through the tunnel, he must be PISSED!!!

.....and I don't blame him, this is a pathetic display of football that were seeing by The Gunners, I hope he doesn't get a heart attack before the second half because he is gonna go off in the locker room area, Pete Bell-style

Pete Bell (played by Nick Nolte in "Blue Chips", I highly recommend it I have ot on VHS) would be so ticked off too

I think it's just up to the ref. To me, there's too much white in Arsenal's full home kit to have a contrast with an all-white opponent.

I imagine that the red shorts aren't registered with UEFA, so that wasn't an option, leaving us with the blue hombre ensemble.

Two worst players on field sadly are English Chambers n holding. To think players like this can continue to wear arsenal Jersey is sad.

    Dumb.

I found some pics of 2012 match against Swansea where we wore our red & white strip and they wore all white except for blue socks so as to not conflict with our white socks that season.

Personally I think the red in our shirts and socks is plenty enough red to see the difference between an all white opponent.

In any case, we just pulled one back, so it's 4-2 aggregate. Let's not stop there, PLEASE!!!

Hmm, we seem to have woken up after a little pow-wow in the locker room. ;)

Gonna guess that you're not color blind. I am. There isn't enough contrast.

Props to UEFA for actually making jerseys contrast, unlike the Premier League (see: West Brom v. Stoke matches) and MLS (see: like, half of their matches).

The guy has good size but that's it...can't pass can't read plays is not athletic. He has had numerous chances to shine

They should convert xhax to a defender. He would not be a starting midfielder other top teams like MU or blues or mcity. He could get minutes at Liv. But he is not l that good.

    Why is Mkhi wearing 77?

Because Sanchez have already worn the '7' in Europa, and UEFA doesn't allow the team to put two different players with the same number

Correct, I'm not color blind. But some in my immediate family are, so I'm somewhat sensitive to the issue.

But I always figured that there's enough contrast between shirts & socks which are dark red, compared to those which are white.

How is Iwobi able to make the wrong decision with the ball 10 times out of 10? That takes serious skill to be that consistent.

Why was Chambers, a CB, making a full field run into the opposition box when the only way we can lose is by giving up two goals? No excuse from the player or the coaches there.

The run was open and they here were players that could hold back. I get it. We still had 8 behind the ball. If we get beat with that we don’t deserve the win.

Man, what's happened to Iwobi? He looks shot.

    Welbeck is pretty garbage too.

This outing was pathetic in all ways except that we manage to advance on aggregate. Because of that Mourinho would embrace this kind of performance I suppose.

Crowd turn out & volume, pathetic.
Player effort, pathetic (especially in 1T)
Player quality, pathetic (including shots on target and conversion rate)
Losing at home to a backwater team, pathetic

    Did I miss anything important?

    Boo, hiss.

Let's put this behind us and start a new MD thread for Sunday's cup final.

Even though we advanced on aggregate, this game was still a loss. So am I right that the protocol is still to switch thread starters?
