Like in all team sports, no team stays on top forever. Some come back to create new dynasties, and some come back sooner than others. Argentina has enjoyed an excellent generation which had more than enough talent to win cups. It didn't. Brazil had its own harvest of solid players from the late 1990s to the mid-late 2000s and we won a number of cups.
Sure, I hear you. And I can believe you have predicted the semifinals of World Cups correctly. All I'm saying is that based on the only prediction I saw you make on this website - a categorical Argentine destruction of Chile in Santiago, which as we all know did not occur - I've not seen any reason to take your predictions seriously. If anything, your predictions seem fueled more by emotion and passion; more specifically, anger against the Chileans.
antes hay que ganar 4 fechas de eliminatorias en 2015 moreover, your bet should rank the 12 points in dispute before december 2015 brazil y argentina at least 9 chile y colombia at leats 7- uruguay y peru o paraguay 5? is too hard to predict second runners, but top 2 are always the same super powers of the area
Here is a prediction; The CONMEBOL qualifiers are going to be as following: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Uruguay. The Fifth team (via playoff) will be fought between Chile, Ecuador and Paraguay, with Chile the favorite to win it. Can you disagree with this assessment?
Uruguay?
My team and yours atop the table isn't that hard to predict. Colombia is in great form and Uruguay is always tough. But Chile just won the continental tournament. Paraguay is a darkhorse at the moment - the only team which was clearly better than them at the Copa was Argentina. Uruguay and Brazil couldn't beat them in regulation. Ecuador did make it to the last World Cup. It's simply your prediction, one which might be right - and one which could be utterly wrong outside Brazil and Argentina.
Too early to give any call about what is going to happen, after the first 4 qualifier games, as we don't even know whom will be playing against whom, or where are they actually going to get played. Both Brazil and Argentina, despite the superiority they have shown in overall qualifier results in the past, if they get to be play as a visiting side, against both Ecuador and Bolivia, against whom they both have lots of trouble playing at Quito and La Paz, respectively, they are not going to get more than 1 point on each game (fact is, if the draw puts them in this condition against anyone, very few will come out of it with much points at all). Same if it happens that the first opponents, playing at home are against the current top teams of our confed. All I can say about them before the draw actually happens, is that they are not going to be easy for no one. Not playing at home, and not playing as visitors. Those who used to be the stronger teams in the past, aren't currently playing at their top level, while at the same time, those who used to be among the weakest teams, now are playing lots better than before. These qualifiers will be lots tougher than whatever they were before. For everyone the same, with no exceptions.
Realmente vergonzoso.
and thats why this thread is about, when the powerhouses have a drop in results for quite sometime and their squads are not what they used to be then we can start questioning their "powerhouse" title Now you cant expect Argentina to win the same amount of titles as that Brazilian team because on paper the Brazilian squad was way more talented Just look at that run 94 winners 98 runner up 2002 (is important to note that 2006 Brazil didnt reach further not because lack of talent but because of overconfidence because of that record of 3 world cup finals in a row, on top of that the hegemony in copa america. Argentina have a great squad but not close to that specific Brazilian squad, so expecting argentina to perform just as close as that Brazilian squad is not fair.
Esa critica no vale.
Not even close to what Jara did. And DON'T FORGET THE DIVE JOB AFTERWARDS THAT GOT CAVANI KICKED OUT And afterwards Jara got up and pretended that he was upset for getting hit. That is some disgusting display of un-sportsman action. Absolutely disgusting
I don't know if many people would have been able to keep their cool at that point. Its was more like tv wrestling (the ref doesn't see the bad guys doing something and then the good guy gest punished) rather than football. Regardless, sticking to the point in this thread, can anyone make the case that Argentina has lost status as a powerhouse? 'cause I can make the case for Argentina
I've been watching footy for a long time. The way Uruguay plays does not make them "good guys" How they react when losing also doesn't make them "good guys" Back to the topic: I for one think that Argentina remains a powerhouse and that Messi is one of the best in the world. Which makes beating a team like Argentina that much better.
cual sentimiento de la prensa??? Sera La prensa amarillista....
