Mexico would fight for 5th place with urugauy and colombia, and giving the fact that colombia cant beat colombia (copa oro, copa america) when colombia, and lose to brasil 5-0 when they use olympic teams. How will they qualify better tahn 5? Ecuador is unstopable in quito, Arg and brasil are well the best 2 teams in the world. Paraguay is consistent qualified 98,2002,2006.

Also i dont get how u can compare Mexico to brasil or argentina when u have to use there players on ur national teams and they are basically ur best 2, franco and izaj or whatever the brasilan is called

Also that "Amazing Mexican in BARCA" IS BRASILIAN !!!

a lot of the newer stadiums, i would say, are good for soccer. seattle's and houston's stadiums in particular, are very nice. stanford stadium has been re-done as well and it's now a good field too. still need to have some new stadiums in LA, NYC, and Florida though.

I was watching Palabra del Deporte and Alberto De La Torre, was asked about hosting the cup in mexico, and he said that CONMEBOL had given their word that the next copa was mexico's, but concacaf had to approve it first and that the Federacion Mexicana had to look at the organization of it. He also stated that it was in conmebols interest to have it in Mexico.

If anyone else watched the program and could expand or correct me if im wrong that would be great.

No it wouldnt be grEAT !!! colombia made the copa oro semi finals and made the final and only went 2x.. Why dont u let us host next one huh? well prob even send a sub 23 instead of a sub 20 this time. Why should concacaf team host a comenbol tournie... if u guys r so intersted in our comenbol why dont u join it. Thats what Austrilla did with asia, they had no competition in oceania so they went to asia. Mexico would become 10x better if they were part of Comenbol and could qualify each time.

uhhh...Colombia just hosted it in 2001. What makes you think CONMEBOL will give it to them again in such a short time? That's not gonna happen. Colombia won't get it for a while now. Same as Peru (2004) and Paraguay (1999) who have hosted it the last editions. The rotation starts all over again with Venezuela being the last team in the rotation. Of course then come the "Mexico hosting it" rumors.

    I know it's you ilovecolombia. ;)

    Re: CA Hosts??

    No.

Rumor has it that Mexico might get to host it in 2009. If they don't give it to Mexico then it should be Argentina since it would be their turn to host the cup

Thanks. I am PUMPED for the Copa, almost as much as for the WC this past summer. Hopefully the US will get to host it sometime (my guess is about 10 years or so from now, $$ talks)

    2009?

I thought Copa America was now gonna be every four years.

Especially since the Copa Confederaciones is so well established that summer before the WC.

    Re: CA Hosts??

That's what they're also gonna look at along with the hosting issue.

If they make it 4-year and if it's permanent or after 2011, they go back to 3.
