http://www.elgrafico.com/2016/06/30/abreu-jugara-en-el-santa-tecla Abreu will be playing for Santa Tecla. He is obviously old and probably will cost a whole lot of money to not be around for very long most likely but props to Tecla for trying something let's hope people at least reward the effort by showing up to the stadium
At first I was against it because of his age, but the more I read about him and what other player i have to say about him. I am extremely optimistic. Every interview done with talks about wanting to help the league (with both his football knowledge and skill) and he turned down offers to play in the middle east, Costa Rica, Guatemala and the lower tiers of USA. The draw of the tournament has been announced with the season starting July 30-31st Dragon - Municipal Limeno Pasaquina - Alianza Aguila - Firpo Chalatenango - Metapan FAS - UES Santa Tecla - Sonsonate External Links: http://www.edhdeportes.com/articulo/liga-mayor-de-futbol/apertura-esta-servido-117471 Luis Contreras will either resign with FAS or join Dragon, if he doesn't Dragon will have a bolivian keeper trialing with them External Links: http://www.elgrafico.com/2016/06/29/motor-contreras-en-la-mira-del-campeon Uruguayan Jesus Toscanini will be joining Limeno External Links: http://www.elgrafico.com/2016/06/29/jesus-toscanini-llegaria-la-proxima-semana Wow, out of the 235 players to play in the inaugural season of the reserve division only 8 went on the make a career out of it. with Nelson Bonilla being the most successful currently playing in Portugal first division. Thats 0.03 %, less than 2 out of 50 make it professional. I am hoping the next few editions the numbers have increased, mostly due a factor of risen that first generation was lost (including the teething period, the usual injury, quitting football for study or moving abroad. plus servreal are playing in second and third division which are considered semi-pro and therefore not counted as making a career out of it). Off season new Metapan have suffered a huge blow with their recruit Jamaican Romeo Parkes being banned by FIFA for his oulash against new york red bull 2 External Links: http://www.elgrafico.com/2016/07/11/el-metapan-pierde-a-parkes-hasta-octubre Colombian Danny Santoyá has signed with Aguila Exteral Links: http://www.elgrafico.com/2016/07/10/aguila-completa-sus-extranjeros-con-un-colombiano Arggh they have ended the compulsory minites for a youth player in the league, it was lead by FAS president Guillermo Moran
Yeah I read about them taking away the requirements for playing young players. Between that and adding a foreign spot it just shows nobody running the game has learned a thing about player development. This is why I feel boycotting the national team isn't the right move. The real problem in our football are the people running the clubs they should be developing our players instead they look for easy fixes ignoring the fact that we are falling way behind every league in Central America. Lots of people have talked about the need to improve youth development I wish someone would actually take it on. It could be one of the ex players living in the USA, members of the media could pull resources together however none of that will happen instead we will have a very poorly run youth system and continue to look for easy fixes while literally everyone else moves way beyond us
The four clubs that fought aganst it were Metapan, Dragon and Firpo. While FAS spearheaded the campaign for the removal (not suprising since they have been the worst at bringing the youth to the top tier).
Whoops forgot to add UES. six clubs supported Guillermo Moran action, while Santa tecla and Chalatenango abstained
