    Now's the time.

State your guess of the date and location of the next school shooting. We can discuss the number of deaths required. Closest time and place wins. Now, WHAT you win I can't really say, 'cause there's no money involved.

Any takers? Need about 20 posters.

One helluva ghoul pool you're proposing.

Minimum # dead should be 3.

I was gonna suggest five, but three might work.

Odds are high it'll be in the South or West. I'm going with March 25th near Waco, TX. Disgruntled worker takes out 5 with 8 others wounded. Offs himself before cops arrive.

Alaska has the highest gun ownership in the country, but some of that is actually legit, for hunting. So I will go with Louisiana, which is #2.

The only blue states in the Top Twenty, if you call them blue rather than purple, are New Mexico and Nevada. It would seem that gun ownership is the most reliable difference between Democrats and Republicans.

I don't want any part of this, I think the thread should be closed. Betting on tragedy is not what this forum should be about.

You should all engage in some serious introspection.

Eh, think of it as another angle for discussion. I just learned something about gun ownership when preparing my post. We're not betting anything real here -- and we'd be delighted if we all lost, because there were no more school shootings.

Do what you want. I'll have no part of it. A good friend of mine went to MDS, knew the gym teacher.

Freud believed that tasteless humor was the ego insisting that it cannot be affected by the traumas of the external world. I think that's especially true of a particular issue in the external world where the change that needs to happen couldn't possibly be any more obvious nor more impossible to achieve. Humor is a perfectly natural reaction when faced with a heartbreaking human tragedy that could be fixed nearly overnight but won't ever be. If you have a problem with acerbic satire, take it up with Juvenal.

Virginia, 4 dead in a middle school. AKA Tuesday.

Or the flipside, it's so common place now that we're really not as troubled about it as we should be. IMO that's sadder than this thread.

The over-under on Brummie was ten posts. I'm the only one with the under, so everyone pay up.

Yes, Brummie, I do have more evil in my heart than I should.

I'm as cynical and dark humoured as the next but I can't get with this one.

I can't in good conscience allow this.

    Sorry.
