I just read the following piece by JR Eskilson in TDS, and was so excited to discover Ander Egiluz. I am both Vasco-Americano, and a Huuuuuge fan of Los Leones (AC Bilbao). Now, I have to read about Markos Iturbe! http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club...ail&utm_term=0_8340315a79-bd830997b1-31214089
He's listed with Athletic Bilbao Juvenil A for 2016-17. http://www.aupaathletic.com/bancodatos/equipo-plantilla.asp?id=1076
Three games into the Juvenil División de Honor (Juvenil A) season with Athletic Bilbao and our boy Ander, a 98 among 99s has seen no minutes. No word on injuries.
Quick update. Athletic club are in fifth in División de Honor Group 2 with 7 point in 4 games. Osasuna leads the group with 9 points. According to Athletic's websit, Ander has made no appearances this season. http://www.athletic-club.eus/cas/estadisticas/2016-17/juvenila-liga.html
Entered in the 78th minute to make his Juvenil A debut in Athletic Club's 3 - 0 win over AD San Juan.
Entered in the 70th minute in Athletic Club's 10 Oct 4 - 0 rout of Santutxu. AC Bilbao are now 7 - 1 - 1 and first in Group 2 (Rioja).
Eguiluz was a 83 minute sub for Athletic Bilbao's 1 - 1 draw with Aurrera Vitoria on Sunday. Bilbao remains third in their group in Juveníl A.
(Catching up after an extended trip abroad) Ander continues to get sporadic minutes with a very talented Juvenil A side. He last played as a 78 minute sub in AC Bilbao's 3 - 0 win over AD San Juan on 10 Jan.
Ander wound up having nine appearances (out of 30) for the Juvenil A side this year. The side came in third in their group, just making the Copa, so he could, in theory, get more minutes. I would expect a move from him this summer, tbh.
He's one of the older ones. He's one of about 6 '98s. They have one '01. one '00 and the rest are '99s.
He's with C.D. Basconia in the Tercera Division (fourth tier), which appears to be a feeder club for Athletic Bilbao. http://www.athletic-club.eus/en/players/2405/eguiluz.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD_Basconia#Current_Squad
From the Wikipedia page, it sounds like this club effectively serves as Athletic Bilbao C. Athletic's reserve team plays one division higher in the Segunda B.
He was Juvenil A last year so CD Basconia is the natural progression. They are an integral part of Athletic Club and have a section on their website where we can track Ander's progress. It's comparable to Real Madrid Castilla. http://www.athletic-club.eus/cas/plantilla/2017-18/cdbasconia-jugadores.html
The annual Basque Festival in Boise, Idaho happened this weekend. (Something I totally randomly came across in the news.) Get ready to party in Downtown Boise this weekend. https://t.co/PQwcbiEbvz— Idaho Statesman (@IdahoStatesman) July 28, 2017
He started in CD Basconia's last friendly, a 0 - 4 win over Oyonesa on the 12th of August. League play begins on August 27th.
Played 90 and earned a yellow as CD Basconia drew 2 - 2 with Somorrostro. He's featured in three of five matches so far this year.
Ander went 90 in a 0 - 0 draw v Anaitasuna in Spain's Tercera Division (Group 4). Ander has been getting regular playing time with Basconia
Do you know where on the field he plays and the proportion of the team's minutes he plays? I'm trying to find info on him, but can't find much. Do we have any clue if he's any good?
I get the info from the web-site - they are usually 24 hours following game, they show players / goal scorers/ subs etc. Its funky but everything is there - just needs some heavy 'clicking' This report is typical, he was an unused sub in this one. http://www.cdbasconia.com/es/primer-equipo/zigor-gehiegi-demasiado-castigo/4304.htm This is the 'results page" just click the text under the score hope it helps you out
Ander went 90 picked up a yellow as CD Basconia traveled to Real Sociedad C and played to a 1 - 1 draw in Spain's Tercera (Group 4)
<Saturday> Ander started, went 90, for Basconia as they draw 3 - 3 with league leaders Santurtzi, in Tercera Division (Group 4)
