Vitesse visits Sparta Rotterdam's stadium "Het Kasteel" (the Castle) for the semi final of the Cup on wednesday march 1st, kick off 20:45 cest. A very important match for Vitesse as it means they are only two matches won from a guaranteed spot in the Europa League. We in Rotterdam on the other hand want to keep the "Denneappel" ("Pine cone", nickname for the Cup) here in Rotterdam for another year.
Tomori? Iirc he's even suited up for chelsea. Against leicester last year I think. Tbf, I don't think he's a left back, more a centre back given his size. I don't think he will be an upgrade to Alonso anyways
I don't believe he's featured for BHA yet. I'll verify that and he hasn't featured for Chelsea before. As you say though, he's way too big to play wide. He's got English center back written all over him.
Appreciate you stopping by. I'm hopeful that Vitesse can get by here only for Lewis to help them win a Cup for Cupless Vitesse. As a Feyenoord fan, what is your impression of Lewis Baker?
Busy day for the yoof today. Monchengladbach and Andreas Christensen have a Pokal tie at Hamburg. Vitesse are at Sparta Rotterdam in their Dutch Cup tie. Boga and the other lad I can't remember his name (Victoren) and Granada are at home today against Alaves. Granada are firmly in a relegation battle. Lastly Huddersfield have their replay with Pep and co. I believe Kasey Palmer is still out but Izzy has been reborn there.
He's a very good player and the soccer pundits over here are very positive about him, but sometimes he's AWOL, like in the match against Ajax, which was a pity, as a good Vitesse result would give us more room between us and Ajax. but when he's serious, he's one of the best in the league.
Baker with a brace with about 15 minutes to go. Sparta get one back though. Nathan started a mid and lasted about an hour. Miazga again gets a start.
Oh @lew_baker oh Lewis Baker 😃🎤 #spavit #Vitesse #makehistory pic.twitter.com/crRWsEcVX6— Vitesse (@MijnVitesse) March 1, 2017 This is the Vitesse fans after Baker's second goal. Absolutely awesome.
he could be a monster. i think the only question is should we send him to say, germany, for one more year of finishing school.
You know my stance on youth. I would live for him to be part of the squad next season. With all that said, Germany would be the best option for 1 year if he isn't with us. Avoid PL loans like the plague.

Yup, it makes no difference which foot he uses. Actually we havenot figured out yet what is his preference foot. I'm still pissed the blue brigade in yellow/black went awol against Ajax apart from Miazga.
Good update on Matt Miazga. http://americansoccernow.com/articles/matt-miazga-discusses-his-good-run-in-netherlands Cool bit about keeping in touch with Chelsea; every loanee usually speaks well of the system. “I’ve been in contact with Chelsea a lot,” he added. “The coaching and the loan program is very good. They keep in touch with you usually after every game. They even have an app on your phone and they analyze each game you play. They analyze all of your touches, all the plays that you’re involved in, they tell you what you can do you better, where to improve, and what you’re doing well. They monitor all the guys on loan.”
sounds like he's got a great attitude about what he's doing and the direction he's going. willing to really take the challenge on. really great to see someone making the most of what's in front of them. he may or may not be chelsea quality in the future but there's no doubt he'll be a better player for it.
Good for him. My buddy who works for the Red Bulls said some higher ups mocked his coming to us, but seeing stuff like that leaves me with no doubt that he will be far better for it.
Higher ups at the Red Bulls? Given the RB track record of, well, not winning anything alongside massive higher-up ineptitude, I'd say Miazga is on the right track. Especially if you've ever seen him play in person. He will be massive for the US one day and for some club in Europe. They'll be lucky to have him.
