Pittsburgh Riverhounds 3-0 Akron Zips Scoreless at HT. Hounds inserted starters in 2nd and the rout was on. Former Zip Victor Souto played entire 2nd half for Riverhounds.
Akron 2-1 Notre Dame (College) Falcons (D2) once again proved a stern test for Zips. Falcons could compete in D1 regarding MSOC.

http://www.malaysiandigest.com/fron...th-united-soccer-league-debut-appearance.html The young man completed 52 passes (96%) in 75 minutes for USL side Swope Park Rangers. Wow! He certainly seems like a Zip to me. Can't wait!
Double-edged sword, however. If he does too well, he might be signed to a pro deal and never matriculate. His dad being a professor would appear to help the Zips' chances he plays college soccer, but you never know. Maybe that means he knows he can provide him a college education later.
Can a student athlete plays pro USL and keep its amateur eligibility? For example in PDL, you can play in a team where there is no pro, but you cannot play alongside pro team mates. Re the pass ratio, I am going to sound like an old grumpy doubter: how many of the passes were lateral or backwards? For example, central defenders often have nearly 100% completion rates. If the team's play is to ensure safe passes with no risk at the back it is often achieved. Stats without proper context are just useless in football (will my friend ENB approve?). The article sounds to me like an agent's PR exercise to attract attention from both the Malaysian FA and other stakeholders (e.g. clubs). Sorry, but I saw so many articles showing off young lads with a modest talent, who then lost themselves because of the surrounding adults.
The old grumpy again... I just watched the video and it confirms my previous doubtful post. Only one interesting long pass for a supposed talent. A lot of easy no risk lateral/back passes. Fyi, my second son 18yo, CB at CSUB has a 90+% completion rate for both short and long pass (over 30 meters long), for his freshman season. Great stats confirmed by experts who saw his stats spreadsheet, but we do not write a PR article about it. And we are still wondering whether he has the potential to be pro. So many other criteria are equally important. Maybe we should hire an agent (just kidding).
As I understand it (and I could be wrong), the NCAA allows players to play with pro teams before they become "student-athletes..." in college. But once they are NCAA "student-athletes" in college, then, no, they can't play with the pro teams.
I am guessing 2008. There is no way that hair cut DOES NOT impede heading the ball! Get well DeAndre! Heal up!
That inevitable day has arrived. The MAC no longer has enough teams to qualify for an automatic bid to NCAA Tournament. I am uncertain what that entails for Zips. The 2014 Hartwick expulsion now seems poorly conceived. http://www.ubbullrun.com/2017/4/3/15159704/buffalo-bulls-to-drop-four-sports
Can the teams find welcoming conferences under so short notice? Has such a case previously happened? If I understand well this is for the 2017/2018 season? Am I right?
"The University at Buffalo is reducing the number of its intercollegiate athletic programs by four, effective at the end of the spring 2017 season."
Definitely not 100% complete. But, I definitely know how wrestling and baseball are feeling with programs being cut every year. Granted, many men's soccer programs most recently are coming with schools closing...but there's way too many being cut with the rest of soccer looking somewhat bright. 59 cut total 4 cut all athletics 6 reinstated 15 schools closed 33 men's soccer programs (along with others) cut https://ponchat.wordpress.com/so-long-mens-soccer/
Akron 3-1 Cleveland State It was not really as close as the score would suggest. Scoreless at HT, Zips really put the hammer down in the 2nd.
That's a damn good team. DII finalists last season. They're all fast as hell, and about half of them are pretty ripped up top (or they were wearing Arsenal jerseys). They looked like a bunch of wrestlers with footskills. Their problem was tactics and composure, but man, that isn't a bad team at all.
