Re: Ajax Amsterdam, Home of Legends and Glory II [R] A mixture of both, Ajax Academy graduates have a reputation so will always attract interest abroad. Sarpong in Spain and Martina in MLS are recent examples. I kind of wonder how Sarpong's season has went in La Liga, anybody knows?
Re: Ajax Amsterdam, Home of Legends and Glory II [R] It's most likely nothing but Ajax is linked with Olsen (17) and Andersen (16), another 2 Danish talents. The first one caught my eye at the EC -17. VERY talented CM. I can't get enough of these Danish talents so sign, sign, sign!
Re: Ajax Amsterdam, Home of Legends and Glory II [R] Pretty much a bench player all season coming on in the last 15-20 minutes. I saw a couple of matches on TV and he looked OK when he got on the pitch. Team avoided relegation which was their primary goal. It's also a wonderful part of the country to live in!
Re: Ajax Amsterdam, Home of Legends and Glory II [R] Apparently some very big news coming up at ajax.nl on friday. Something to do with nostalgia and the 21st & 24th of July. People are still guessing among the Ajax websites, but I have it on good account that we'll be playing Argentina's AC Independiente and Brazil's Gremio. Some say we might be heading to Tokyo where the Toyota Cup/Intercontintal Cup was traditionally held, but it's probably at the Olympic Stadium considering the nostalgia part. Epic teams to play against in pre-season if you ask me!
Ah, the Gremio game. I remember being in elementary school. No classes as the whole school watched it in the auditorium, all almost 3 hours of it. I must have been about 8?
Lol I remember literally everybody watching in elementary school as well even though we weren't officially allowed. Gareth Southgate knows what's up!
Looks like Ruud has convinced Joris to join Malaga. Ajax are following the progress of Jeffrey Gouweleeuw, 19 year old 6'2" CB from Heerenveen.
Re: Ajax Amsterdam, Home of Legends and Glory II [R] Independiente pretty much confirmed, Ajax still in talks with 2nd opponent. Anita seriously tracked by Liverpool. His transferfee is 14m after signing an extension recently.
Re: Ajax Amsterdam, Home of Legends and Glory II [R] I do not want to lose Anita. I will be very upset if we lose him. For one thing, he's not ready for Liverpool and will rot on their bench. For another thing, he is turning into an awesome midfielder. An Anita, Janssen, Eriksen midfield has the potential to be amazing.

Ajax have made a settlement with Jan Olde Riekerink. The current head of youth academy. His contract will be disbanded on July 1st. The first results of the revolution are starting to show. From next year, Ajax youth will once again be training technique and positiespel instead of Judo.
Mathijsen is close to an agreement with Malaga. Thank god, we don't have to worry about wasting money on him.
La Ling considers giving up his ownership of Trencin for the Ajax job. Lindgren targeted by Red Bull Salzburg. Boilesen attracts interest from Barca. Daniel de Ridder has been released by Wigan.
Re: Ajax Amsterdam, Home of Legends and Glory II [R] He's an Academy graduate I still care about his career lol. And I agree, don't want to see him back unless it's a job behind the scenes. He's dating a Dutch celebrity and is still quite popular over here. Serero has pulled out of the South African team for their crucial qualifier for the Olympics. He's injured still, but some say it's Ajax related. VDW has opened a Cruyff Court in Curacao. Anyone still remember Medunjanin?
Maceo Rigters was released today as well. If I remember correctly he was the leading scorer in the U-21s when the Oranje last won it three or so years ago. de Ridder was on that team as well I believe. Also, US NT fullback Johnathan Spector was let go by West Ham as they were relegated though I don't suppose he will want to move to a Dutch side.
Re: Ajax Amsterdam, Home of Legends and Glory II [R] I want another JOB at Ajax soon, I hope Winter does some scouting for us since he's coaching there now. Goalie Deckers from Jong Ajax was released and has signed for Excelsior, I wonder if he's related to Brooklyn? The reason why I mentioned Medunjanin is because he's also linked with Malaga after an above average season in Tel Aviv. Malaga going Dutch like Barca under LVG and Madrid under Schuster?
Re: Ajax Amsterdam, Home of Legends and Glory That's the power of Qatar oil... Sounds like Mathijsen is a done deal for Malaga, so I guess no homecoming for him.
