I hope that it ´ll be WESTasian this time......
But I very unsure about it.
If I shall imagine the CL winner 2009,I would say Pohang, don´t know exactly why...
Both team would deserve the win, just look at their road, very impressive from both.
I hope Itti takes it.I like their offensive way of playing football with scoring many goals. But defensively they are good ,too.SO let us see...:D

Rashed a-Raheeb pulled his hamstring in the game against Nagoya. He's definitely out. Ittihad's probable lineup is:

    M Zayed
    O Shamrani , R Tokar , H Montasheri , S Saqri
    S Kariri
    A Hadeed , M Aboushgeir
    M Noor , H Aboucharouane
    A Chermiti

as much as i want Pohang to win, J.U. is always a huge threat. it should be a cracking final, expect to see Denilson or Noor on the scoresheet.

I am East Asian and I have to support Pohang Steelers. I think they have what it takes to beat Al Ittihad.

As as Suwon fan, I have to give credit to Farias, the current Pohang coach for coming this far.

Pohang doesn't have so many "top-class", famous players. They have pretty good ones, but not so many players which we would normally call "superstars."

But Farias has masterminded this team to the max that I think no team from Asia can easily beat Pohang.

Al Ittihad has many international-capped Saudi Arabian national team players in its squad, so Ittihad definitely has the upper hand in owning some famous firepower. But with Farias, Pohang just might be able to pull off something nice...like they've been doing this whole time.

Pohang has several "borderline" national team players. They either barely miss the Korean national team's call-up, or even if they do get called up, they don't get to play much if at all. And more often times than not, they might just get called up once or twice and never get called again.

So it'll be an interesting battle between the two teams that are very different in style.

    Good.

I hope Ittihad wins this. They have much quality and big talents and I feel that football needs Ittihad to win and not the playstation-style of Pohang.

That could be true as Denilson is a player who scored the most goals for Pohang this season. But a lot of K-league teams received hard blows on their head when they went into the match thinking like that.

Pohang is not a team depending on an individual. Like Korean football said, Pohang don't even have one NT player. They have two players who could get called up for the Korea NT but they could be used as subs if best. Farias is a genius in that he optimizes the team's performance by acknowledging that. The lack of individual brilliance can be compensated with his tactical brilliance. - That's what Farias has been doing with his players.

But, as much as I hate to say this, I and a lot of Korean fans think Al-Ittihad has the edge over Pohang simply because they saw what Al-Ittihad did to Busan (in ACL SF), Jeonbuk (in ACL SF) and Seongnam (in ACL FINAL) a few seasons ago. Some Seongnam fans still can't get over it. :D (They call Al-Ittihad, the Al-Bonjwa (알본좌) in Korean - roughly translated as "the master")

This must be the first internet-forum that is unfamiliar with the phrase "over 9000"...

Perhaps I'm just too big a nerd to expect everybody to understand it :(

9000? That's hugely optimistic. The number of fans coming all the way from Saudi will be limited. Our useless shirt sponsor STC made a fuss about them ferrying fans from Jeddah to Tokyo, then it turned out that they were only paying to send the 30 most senior members of the fan club. There was a big backlash and they've had to backtrack and improve their offer, I don't know the final number but I don't think they make more than a plane load.

People going on their own dime from Saudi will be few. Not many have the time or can afford the 2k+ USD cost. Most Saudi fans will be coming from "nearby" countries such as Australia.

edit: it did indeed sail over my head

Serouisly? No one on this forum knows "IT'S OVER 9000!" meme? It's older than the internet itself!

With Tukar and Muntashiri in CB I think Ittihad will win but it'll be close.

Re: Afc Champions League Final-AL ITTIHAD JEDDAH VS POHANG STEERLERS

    Regarding the game.

I don't like the favourite tag people are putting on Ittihad, and the closer we get to the game the more uncertain I feel about it. I saw a lot to worry me in the Ittihad v Nagoya tie. The results were great, but the play wasn't.

The defense was scarily shaky. To be fair, we had a makeshift defense in both legs, but I'm not so sure that the defensive issues will be resolved with the first choice lineup. Worse, I'm really worried about Mabrouk Zayed. He's always been injury prone, and from experience his form goes down the pan with the slightest niggle. He doesn't attack any ball with conviction, spills, goes walkabouts, a complete nightmare. He picked up a knock before the second leg in Nagoya and he was as described. It was embarrassing. I really hope they don't risk him unless he is 100%.

Now I wouldn't mind these problems so much if we looked good on the ball in those games, but we didn't. The fluid passing and movement that Ittihad specialise in were absent. Nagoya's tactic of packing the midfield of course played a part in stifling, but that doesn't excuse the poor touch and misplaced passing when we had possession. They looked really hesitant on the ball. It wasn't flowing.

But I hope my fears are misplaced and we get a vintage performance, and a great final. May the best team win. That's Ittihad I hope.

Alright, I will admit. I never heard that expression in English because I grew up in Japan. Plus, I dont think Japanese people uses that.

Anyways, according to the following, 27,000 tickets have been distrubuted. (Note: I used distributed because it includes some free invites)
