could any one tell us which teams take this ACL seriously? I mean clubs will go all out for it?

In CSL Beijing Guoan and Shanghai Shenhua attach great importance to the tournament, while according to Shandong Luneng and Tianjin Teda, this is the secondary tournament after CSL

This is the most important club event in Asia. All this clubs take it seriously..Perhaps they are saying that for future excuses.

Anyways, Why not turn this into a game? two points for every right prediction of the game's outcome and plus one point for getting the right score.

    My predictions.

    Group A

Hilal (KSA) 2:0 Saba Battery (Iran)
    Al-ahli (UAE) 2:1 Pakthakor (USBek)

    Group B

    Persepolis (Iran) 2:1 Sharajah (UAE)
    Garaffa (QAT) 1:1 Shabab (KSA)

    Group C

    Ittihad (KSA) 2:0 Estheglal (IRN)
Jazira (UAE) 2:1 Um salal ( Qat)

    Group D

    Bunyadakor (UZB) 2:1 Ettifaq (KSA)
    Sepahan (IRN) 2:0 Shabab (UAE)

    Group E

    Ulsan (KOR) 2:1 Nagoya (JPN)
    Guan (PRC) 2:0 Jets (Aus)

    Group F

well man you must understand this is asia, 90% of the clubs has no ability (in both financial and squads) to do well in both of the domestic and Asian competetions. so it is not a surprise to see clubs make choices between the tournamets (every season we can see clubs takes ACL as secondary impartant affair for different reasons, ie, Korean side Ulsan Hyundai had decided to focus on K-League as they believe they don't have enough players to deal with ACL. especially in east asian as clubs are not financially big as west asian clubs)

Yes, the coach of K-league club, Ulsan has made an announcement that he will focus more on the K-league. The reason being that Ulsan has lost too many valuable players to other teams in the off-season period and the newly appointed coach, Kim Ho-Gon said he will use this season to concentrate more on rebuilding the team rather than go for the win in ACL or in K-league.

I see, but that is only because they think winning the ACL this year is improbable. This happens even in the ECL. I am pretty these clubs consider the ACL as the most important Competitions they are just being logical with their chances, again it happens even in the ECL.

I know that from Saudi Arabia, both Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad have announced that they're in it to win.

Singapore Armed Forces FC is my local team (their home stadium is a 10 minute drive away). Honestly, we're Asian minnows, playing in the ACL for the first time and I know we have almost-zero chance of even winning or drawing on Korean and Japanese soil.

But I'm quietly optimistic we can get something out of the matches against Shenhua at Jalan Besar...and if we're lucky.. who knows we could force a draw in Shanghai as well.

I'm just glad we qualified for the group stages..and whatever points we get, it's a bonus. I hope this year's ACL will show the world that Asian club football has improved..

Hilal (KSA) 0-0 Saba Battery (Iran) [maybe Saba can clinch a goal at the end on the counter and make it 0-1]

    Group B

Garaffa (QAT) 2:1 Shabab (KSA) [Shabab are very hit and miss and their defense is weak]

    Group C

    Ittihad (KSA) 2:2 Esteghlal (IRN)

    Group D

Bunyodkor (UZB) 3:0 Ettifaq (KSA) [Ettifaq have no chance in hell I'm afraid]

That's what I'm expecting too, I just want to see shenhua got ********ed in Asia hahaa.

by the way if you can trash Shenhua then you'll have no problem with Suwon, I think in this group the two clubs are at the same level

It looks like the the Hilal v. Saba Battery game will have to be postponed due to this:

By the way, these pictures were taken around NOON!

The match officials have decided that if it doesn't clear up in the next hour, the game will be postponed.

Persepolis is already 2-0 up against Sharjah at '30. This is going to get really ugly for Sharjah.

EDIT: Make that 3-0 at '32. This can go up to 6 or 7.

EDIT: Sharjah pull one back in the second half. Shocking defending from Persepolis.

Beijing look pretty good, they dominated the first 20 minutes and made Newcastle look like little children lol

But Newcastle played better in the second 25 minutes and have 59% possession...but Beijing still look a class above though the second half will be entertaining.

The stadium looks huge. The 2 ends of the stadium are empty but the 2 main stands are packed to maximum

2 great chances for Newcastle to equalise in quick succession. Beijing are living dangerously. It's all Newcastle (although they're not doing much with it other thn those 2 chances)
