Another idiot play, why are you trying to dribble the ball out of your own half... Boot the ball up the field...

A Benfica gameday in which Freddy doesn't make an apperance is a depressing day in my book...

Our Brazilians are better than their Brazilians.

I'm sure Freddy will take at least two extra games (probably more considering some of the teams likely to advance) in Europe over 4 minutes of time wasting as a sub tonight.

Well, all the doctors in this thread did conclusively tell us that Freddy would die if he played with the flu. For all we know, Freddy may very well have actually died since he didn't play.

But he is Freddy. So he should be fully recovered in a few days.

Good result for Freddy. He should get some nice minutes in the UEFA Cup.

Even when it lands them in a competition in which he'll see many more minutes? Can't agree with you, sorry. As dangerous as he is, that's exactly the situation you want to see Feddy watching from the bench...where you domn't have to worry about him making a mistake.

    For commercial reasons (adidas).
It worked out, for the first time in history, benfica's second equipment sold more than the first one. About 60% of on-line sales. Appealed more to female fans, and some men lol jk.

It's not pronounced "ay". It's "eh" like the e in "pet"
Most countries say "la gripe"; only a few use the masculine article "el".

Hum... no Nery Castillo, plenty of brazilian players of both teams on the field, a Portuguese club playing, Adu is in it (learning the language by the way) so I ask: What's with the spanish?

It’s “a gripe” in Portuguese by the way. :D
Or to put it on a phrase: "O Adu está engripado".

PS: I got it, you all want to personally speak with Camacho, is that it? ;)

Or, alternatively, if you want to speak like a Brazilian, "Porra, velho, to gripado, nao posso ir."

Strange. My only interest in Benefica is that Adu gets to play, mistakes or no, and gets better.

Confidence can be an important commodity for a young attacking player. Benfica already had the lead the benefits did not outwiegh the possibility of him spending the next 10 months being blamed as the guy who gave away european competition. I like how Benfica are handling him for the time being, with kid gloves as it were.

I don't know if it was cause and effect, but Assiss entry co-incided with a pro-longed spell in which the match had the life sucked out of it, which, to me, seemed to be exactly what benfica needed. That would not be a good role for Adu.
