Looks like St Marys finally posted on NCAA site. It's a good job in a great conference. I am sure will attract many good names.
I posted the men's short short term net effect of a coach change earlier, but it showed few immediate positive improvements. Women's side was an undertaking I will not be repeating in the future (more changes and schools I did not know sponsored soccer) Synopsis: much more likely to improve over a men's change, but overall neutral in the short term. Only Stony Brook made NCAA's in 2019 15 schools RPI improved 14 schools RPI declined 10 schools >+3 conference regular season finish 5 schools <-3 conference regular season finish RPI +/- +175 UIC +150 Oregon State +141 Yale +114 UNF +87 UTEP +84 CMU +82 Louisiana +76 Rice +75 Loyola (MD) +67 Stony Brook +57 Indiana +35 Jackson State +22 UWGB +21 Iona +7 Wofford 0 Ball State -12 Idaho state, Nicholls State -20 UNCA, Texas Southern -25 Arkansas Pine Bluff -26 Syracuse -40 Stetson -41 Seton Hall -49 Boston College -58 Mississippi State -62 VMI -77 N Arizona -104 EKU -112 UC Davis -121 LSU Conference finish +/- 3>/<3 +7 Jackson State +6 UIC +5 UTEP, Iona, Rice +4 Indiana, Yale, Loyola (MD) +3 Louisiana, UNF -3 Texas Southern -4 UC Davis -5 EKU, LSU -9 Boston College Short term roughly 1/3rd benefited, 1/3rd declined, 1/3rd stable UIC, Oregon State & Jackson State the top returns from coaching change in one year Better than the men, but short term return still unlikely on the women's side.
Interesting with the top 2 having worked together quite a bit before each going into new programs and having a significant impact immediately.
Jen Hughes is on the list. I have to guess that’s what the poster meant by D3 Head Coach. I think she has to be the front runner.
Only 2 years college coaching experience? Is there more to this than the resume suggests? Not too impressive on paper.
ahhh the lovely time of year where the new coaches get announced and most people just bitch about who got hired. . .

Her husband was the former HC at Mount St. Mary’s. I know for a fact they aimed higher than this (Sitting P5 HCs), but may be a good hire down the road? also, have all the HCs hired this go round been first time Head Coaches??? Seems like it.
On an anonymous forum can't folks just say they think its Meg Ryan from Rutgers going to Oklahoma?? Geesh. She did marry Joe Nemzer who left little Mt. St. Marys to be closer to her at Rutgers. He's now at even littler Del Valley and won 1 game so I think he's pretty willing to move. He was in Michigan and she's from Maryland so Oklahoma?? I like Ryan a lot but we've seen lots of coaches take this leap and get eaten alive. I hope she's done the math and it works out. Some State schools would not just allow the wife/husband combo hire so we'll see. I thought he was pretty good too. Certainly hard worker. If this does come to pass, I wish them well. (sorry if that's not bitchy enough for you!)
heard OU was down to their final 3 candidates. Mark Carr was another name thrown around as one of OU's final 3. If you can't win with the national team not sure how he could win at OU
College coaching is about recruiting as much as it is coaching. Need to be well connected with top clubs if you are at a school with national recruiting opportunities. On the other side at mid majors you better have the local connections. We will soon see what the new UNLV and Yale coaches are made of. Female AD's are all about hiring female coaches but please there had to be other more prepared for the jobs and certainly more deserving. Best of luck to these 2 young women on their 1st head coaching positions. Colgate has a women AD ... who will get that job
