so did anyone at the top lose their heads (jobs)? Seems like people were pissed for a week and that was it. Probably was boosted by foreign media (specially the English) who were so horrified that Italy didnt qualify.
I'm sure it'll pick up steam again once the WC comes around and everyone suddenly remembers that we're not there.
UEFA Nations League draw is tomorrow. 6am est, I believe. https://www.uefa.com/uefanationsleague/news/newsid=2529920.html#/
i dont know if we are the favourites per say.. but i can see us emerging from this group. I believe with the right coach we will get back on track
Looking at the format it is an easier competition to win than the WC, EC or Olympics; win the group (of only 3 teams) and you are in the semi-finals.
What a joke the FIGC president elections were. How can we not figure this out. I guess we truly haven’t hit rock bottom yet.
not a great deal of transparency either. what's the difference b/w the candidates, what do they want to do differently etc
"We needed change and we believed that neither of the two candidates seriously represented reform," Tommasi said. "One of the reasons we didn't qualify for the World Cup is due to our administrative struggles." I’ll admit I haven’t read too too much into their platforms and maybe someone who has can comment further... but I get the sense Tommasi was the one who would actually try to put through a fundamental change in systems and the other two are part of the old boys club?
I get the impression from things I've read that Tommasi is more concerned about player interests than national team development. I could be wrong but like you haven't seen a lot of information about it. Not sure how people can justify outright dismissing the opposition to Tommasi based on their age.
Di Biagio named as interim coach of Gli Azzurri. https://www.football-italia.net/116770/di-biagio-relishing-great-opportunity The train wreck continues.
Why is it a train wreck? There's still a lot going on and we don't need a permanent coach anytime soon, i don't see an issue with this. Hell at least there's a good chance he won't call up old ass players.
Conte on the outs with Chelsea and rumours are he could be fired with one more poor showing. Luis Enrique has been mentioned as a replacement. What are the chances he comes back to Gli Azzurri?
pretty decent i would say i would maybe even argue he might get the axe tomorrow... they might want to change things up now while they have game vs West Brom then FA cup vs Hull City. This way it will give the new coach a few games to get things right before they hit their tough stretch with (Barca, Man U, Man City, Crystal Palace, Barca).
Man they don't mess around at Chelsea lol. Dude wins the premier league one year and gone the next lol
