And he never had a great assist in that entire time.

What's the latest news from the evil midget over at PSG? No league starts this season.

    He's injured.

On a different note, there have been some good performances from important italians this season. Berardi, Bernadeschi, Chiesa, Belotti, Poliatano, Jorghino among others have had very good starts.

I know it was just one match, and just against Chievo, but if you're gonna include Chiesa, you have to include Benassi and Biraghi, as well.

I don't think anyone would say Chiesa, despite his goal, was better than either of those.

Today's Roma-Atalanta game was a classic example of two coaches not trusting young italians...pellegrini and cristane but got subbed at half time...guess it was their fault they were down 3-1 and Pessina and Valzania were but subbed out and once they were removed Atalanta conceed 2 goals

The whole league is a joke!!!!!!!!!

Every single game, every week, it's like watching the Foreign Legion play against the United Nations

So is every other major league in the world. I don't know what point you are trying to make

Surely that has nothing to do with his strict training regimen.

This is a new phenomenon and it only applies to Europe. Think about that for a second.

That may apply to the top 2-4 clubs in a league. But if you look at all the teams in the top leagues (assuming you mean Italy, France, England, Spain, Germany) most teams have, at a minimum, 5 to 7 players from the home country; also, when I mention 6-7 players, I'm referring to starters.

I mean, even provincial clubs like Udinese, Sampdoria, Atalanta, etc field, maybe, 2-3 Italian players each game. Catania, in its final season in Serie A fielded 11 Argentinians in a game.

going off the Gazzetta "probabili formazioni" for this weeks upcoming games.. here's who has at least 5 Italians STARTING this weekend:

    - Milan
    -Torino
    -SPAL
    -Sassuolo
    -Genoa
    -Parma
    -Frosinone
    -Cagliari
    -Chievo
    -Empoli

so half of the teams are projected to start at least 5 Italian players this upcoming weekend. Most of these are those provincial clubs that you talked about.

You conveniently cherry picked Atalanta, Udinese and Sampdoria to build your case on this... why did you exclude these other teams? lol

Politano, really? Have not been impressed with him. The other players you mentioned have had great starts. Still not quite sure about Berardi though.

Not to mention Immobile started well too.

No its not, La liga and Ligue 1 are no where as bad. Germany is middle ground and Italy & England are by far the worst when it comes to playing foreigners.

All I would like to see is the top 6 teams starting at least 4 Italians a game, while the others 5-6....guess thats way too much to ask for today. I think Napoli started only Insigne last weekend.

I read that De Rossi is getting called back up....really? is Italy the only team calling up players from 2006
