I'm not defending the coaches, but at some point if you want to win, the players have to make it happen, coaches be damned. Being a spectator isn't acceptable, and there's no chance they are being told to stand and watch. It's early, but I won't feel good about this team until I hear about a cadre of players getting upset, gathering the team together and expressing that they will play a certain way, every game, and set a standard for all. Just because training ends at a certain time doesn't mean it has to. Stay late, come together and fix it, don't make excuses.
Goff reported today that Mora is expected to receive his work visa this week and could start on Saturday.
Well Hamid left the building and I saw Hope buying a bus ticket to Palookaville at Union Station yesterday.
Hamid wouldn't have saved those first two matches, and Hope must have been on vacation. Speaking of Hamid, I don't think he has seem the pitch for more than a few minutes with Midtjylland.
What could Hamid have done to keep Atlanta from scoring 3 on Sunday? Ousted was not the problem in that game.
The players arent being told to stand and watch, but are the players being maximized? Are they playing roles and doing functions on the pitch to bring the best out of them? Time will tell. I am trying my best because this isnt optimal for any coach, but still we need results. We need to see progress. There's been none of that over the years.
He wasn't but are you prepared to argue that he didn't have a major role in a great majority of DCU's points during the past several years? You won't find my critiques of Ben Olsen's tactics discussing the GK position. It was Hamid's ability to stand on his head that allowed others to believe Olsen's tactics were working.
That is true - Hamid's exceptional shot stopping ability kept DC close in games they deserved to lose. Ousted is a good keeper and I like him more than Clark. He seems to be able to distribute a ball as well. I've yet to see him make a save he had no business getting to. Hamid did that routinely. james
You're preaching to the choir, but I don't think that lets players off the hook at all. Just because a goal (winning) is full of obstacles and difficult to attain doesn't mean it's okay for the players to write it off. Olsen will be here all year, get used to the idea. If they have to win in spite of him, so be it.
Yes. I'm convinced Hamid gets that Villalba header, for example. Still a loss, but Hamid will be greatly missed, no question.
Not sure he's top five in the East. Blake, Steffen, Robles, Johnson and Bendik all better, imo, off the top of my head. He's good enough, though, he's not the problem, but he won't steal points like Hamid.
Blake is better. Steffen could become better but he isn't better yet. There are MLS teams with backups better than Johnson and Bendik.
Segura joining the Ticos and will also miss the 3/24 match a long with Kelley and Fisher who are with The Reggae boyz.
