With Acosta DCU has used up its quota of good internationals found abroad. Maybe in about 3 years DCU can look again.

Kasper is better off trading within MLS. He seems to be better at that anyways.

    Will Bruin, Tosaint Ricketts

I remember a post I wrote in 2012 that we should be targeting Tosaint Ricketts. We had De Ro at the time and I always thought that he could use his Canada NT network to attract that type of player.

Now Ricketts is about to turn 30. It would be typical of DC to get the right player at the wrong time. Wrong side of 30 and only after other MLS teams have already passed on him.

We actually need another player of his caliber out there to get this offense going.

I would hate to see us lose Acosta when his contract is up because we didn't sign enough talent around him to win.

I have nothing to add to the discussion other than complete agreement. Odds are pretty good his loan gets cancelled, especially after his recent run-outs. Hopefully, his roster replacement makes more of an impact than he did.

I was shocked. He actually did two things today that resembled a decent soccer player. First it was a crisp low header that forced a good save that almost rebounded to Nyarko for a tap in. And a pretty difficult cross that Nyarko headed off the crossbar.

Of course he pretty much sucked the rest of the game.

Ortiz also applied the high pressure on Kann that led directly to Acosta's goal. It may not take any particular skill or talent but he still created a goal.
