Aston Villa v. Chelsea Stamford Bridge, London TV (US): USA Network Time: The time of the match locally is 3:00PM, London. Or, if you're living anywhere on the eastern part of the United States, you can enjoy the match at 10:00AM. If you live in the midwest, say, Chicago, the kickoff time will be 9:00AM. But if you're lucky enough to live anywhere on the West coast, like Seattle, San Francisco, or San Diego, the kickoff time will be 7:00AM. If you're in Hawaii for business, pleasure, or if you actually live there, you're going to have to get up early, because the match starts at 4:00AM! Let's say, however, you live in Europe. Maybe you live in Germany and you'd like to watch the game there. That's cool, because Germany is a fun place to watch soccer; I'm jealous. The game will start there at 4:00PM. Maybe you're in Bandung? The game will start at 9:00PM. Melbourne is nice, but the game is at 1:00AM! On the 18th! I'll never understand the time down under! In Guangdong, you'll have to stay awake until 10:00PM. In Montevideo, it's at a great time - 11:00AM. Interestingly, if you're in Minsk or Ethiopia, the game starts at the same time; 5:00PM. We do have a lot of fans in India, and they'll be tuning in at 7:30PM if they live in New Dehli. I've never been to Tokyo, but I have seen Lost in Translation, and I get the sense I'd get a headache if I spent an extended period of time there. The match is at 11:00PM, but there's plenty to do in Tokyo to keep yourself busy. Table and History 16. Chelsea (WLLWDL) . 18. Aston Villa (LDLLLL) Last 10 matches, Chelsea are 6-2-2 Injuries (pending international duties) Aston Villa: C. Clark, Gardner, Okore (out); Agbonlahor, Traore (doubt) Chelsea: Ivanovic, Courtois (out) Beer pairing It's getting colder in the United States, the international break is ending, and Halloween is fast approaching. One of the best red ales out there is the hoppy, blood red Great Lakes Brewing Nosferatu. The high IBU is fine because you'll need it to get ********ed up to watch this shithouse of a matchup. http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/73/1792/
This is a really interesting match, for a variety of reasons. -you've got guys coming back from international break, where I'm sure Chelsea's weird start was discussed across the globe; will guys be fit, exhausted? -will some of the guys who stayed behind and trained for two weeks be in the mix? Ramires, Mikel, Remy, etc. -Aston Villa is a really crap team. If we struggle against them at home, it will get very interesting very quickly. -the outside backs must surely be Baba and Az, no? If Jose pulls some douchebaggery like putting Zouma at RB, the transfer policies of this club must be seriously questioned -will we get Ruben? will he live up to the task at hand? -also, we need the 3 points
I endorse this pairing. As an Ohioan and former resident of Cleveland, I cannot possibly understate the quality of any beer brewed by Great Lakes. Re: Football I'll say this despite it only being mid-October: if we can't beat this Aston Villa side at home we simply don't deserve Top 4... unless we then go on to win-out the remainder of the season. I think the important question is what is @Brock Hannsen's record as match thread starter?
I am still undefeated in all competitive matches. Will not last much longer as this season goes on, I'm sure. Edit: My record is DDWWWWW with one L to PSG in the friendly this past summer.
What I wouldn't mind seeing: Begovic Az--Zouma--Terry--Baba -----RLC--Mikel------- Pedro--Willian--Hazard -----------Remy---------- What we will probably see: Begovic Zouma--Cahill--Terry--Az -------Cesc--Matic-------- Pedro---Willian--Hazard ----------Falcao------------ Jose has mentioned before that he likes Zouma because he has the ability to also play RB.
Right. And guys who normally arent around during int'l breaks were, like Ramires. Who knows what Jose will pull.
Willian & RLC both looked great in internationals, Cesc & Oscar...did not, and Hazard scored from open play while still getting plenty of stick from his countrymen. Seriously, Willian & Ruben were friggin world beaters. give em licence to run.
This could be the start of a really nice run of games for us. All totally winnable if the players get their f'ing heads on. home v. Villa away v. Kiev away v. West Ham away v.
