I wonder if Fisher could be moved to an outside midfielder. Then he can drop back on defense if needed. He's quick and has decent service.

Probably be a toss up defensively for us to go 3 in the back as play 4 with the experience and quality of the fullbacks we're going to be forced to play in that formation. :( We're basically looking at Robinson and Fisher. Fisher's dire on the left and Robinson's right footed and not really a chalk-on-the boots kind of guy. I guess we could press Durkin into service on the left, maybe.

    This one's fun to contemplate:

    --------- Mullins ------- Mattocks
    Stieber --------- Acosta ----------- Asad
    ------------Moreno -- Durkin
    ------- Opare -- Brillant - Birnbaum
    --------------------Ousted

But I suspect we'll hang in there with the 4-1-4-1, with inverted wings.

    ----------------------Mattocks
    --- Asad -----Acosta ----- Harkes - Stieber
    ------------------------Durkin
    Robinson - Birnbaum --- Brillant ---- Fisher
    ----------------------- Ousted

I kinda like that formation because if our defense is getting over run we can slide Durkin to right back for a 4-1-3-2 or if we’re parking the bus drop the wingers back for a 4-3-3 or a 4-3-2-1

I think we’d get roasted on the wings with that 3 man back line. We’d need Asad and Steiner to track back so much that they would struggle to provide any attack unless we pushed the defensive line up super high and played possession soccer. That isn’t in Ben’s DNA. You need stud wingbacks to do play a 3 man line in MLS 2.0/3.0.

I'm predicting a 3-1 win. New England coughs up some goals, and we suddenly gain maturity to squeeze out the game.

So, RFK is evidently in good enough shape for the team to train there...

    Thx,

    Jay!

Yep. During World Cup matches, WTTG has done segments from there too. Harkes has been part of their team.

Jeebus, Brillant just sucks. That defense is a shambles because Fisher looks the best of the lot and he’s really USL quality. So, let’s sign more forwards and attacking players. It takes more because we win trophies.

No new Rooney interview. It's a clip from the FOX interview earlier.

He needs to retire right now. He's simply taken way too many blows to the head.

How did the trainers have no interest in a concussion protocol moments ago?

I don't have TV, and saw on ESPNFC gamecast that 2 PKs have been awarded. Were they both legit? Who is the center ref?

Shitty team, shitty coaching, shitty FO, rinse, repeat. We are the Cleveland Browns of MLS. There wasn't a defender on the pitch for DCU that could hold a regular turn in USL. Just beyond awful. Thank you Jason, you bumbling ass clown. The only thing that saves you in the States is that there is no relegation.

One more thing, if you want to see Bennyball work, watch Uruguay. Better players, better coach. They actually make it work.

Sooo slooooooow. We're just so slow with the ball.

Why are we holding, on what the NE announcers kept calling a "steamy" night, our subs until the 80+ minute?

Stieber and Asad, despite "combining" for that first goal, seemed really off. I don't know how many times Asad hit a poor free kick, but it was a pretty terrible corner that led immediately to NE counter-attack for the first goal.

Well if the quality of their play is a result of their training and their training is a reflection on the quality of RFK pitch, RFK's pitch must look like the Ho Chi Minh Trail after a month of B-52 strikes.

I wonder if Rooney knows how to play centerback or fullback, we could use 1 or several...
