Silva wasted again in midfield under the forwards? He didn't look good in Pittsburgh doing it, so why should he in this game? Coria looked good playing second forward in Pittsburgh, so interesting choice there. All in all, it leaves Halsti covering an awful lot of people in central midfield without much help. But maybe we outscore them is the thinking. Then again we only have 4 goals in 7 away games. Seems unlikely. Still, Chicago should have a tough time scoring, so maybe 0-0 is the goal. But if so, why Silva? Maybe to keep it 0-0 until Rolfe or Espy can come in and win it? Typical Olsen thinking if you ask me. Then again, I wouldn't bet against it.
This lineup is an odd one for Olsen, he's leaving the middle without cover (except Halsti). I applaud the thinking, going for goals and all, but I'm not very confident it will work.
My big worry is that he'll use a couple of goals allowed in this one as the reason for Halsti to go to the doghouse. Good news? We're going to be attacking.
Looks like we're in a 4-1-4-1, and I'm actually surprised by our midfield play. Our defenders might be being lazy, but Chicago ain't having no luck down the center of the field. I do feel like we're going to get burned on the high defensive line tonight, though.
@nobletea well you were right on the lineup compared to my view. looks ok almost through 1st half, win is def possible.
We should all thank Yallop for marooning Shipp out on the right. If he's in the middle, Halsti isn't able to dictate so much and they are more dangerous overall. Smart move for them would be to bring in Stephens or Palmer for Do Prado, who is terrible, and shift Shipp into the middle. Then hold a gun to Jones' head to attack down that left side. That would be trouble for DC. DC needs some oompf off the bench. I'd go for Deleon for Aguilar to counter Jones, but also put pressure on their left side. Also, not a Silva basher, but he is not a good midfielder and DC would be better off with Rolfe or Espy off the bench if they are available. 0-0 is all to the good, but there are moves to be made on both sides to break this open.
NDL for Coria? Huh....Not sure how I feel about that one. Mishu is doing well, but I wouldn't say the Fire have put him under all that much pressure.
Coria coming out certainly impacted the midfield ....His positioning is better than NDL's, as is his reading of the game. I guess that's maturity. Let's see what Kitchen's addition does.
