So far it's seems we are in for a much less open season like last year. This year it looks as if we might have a group of teams running away early on - 11 points between 1st and 6th right now, at the same time last year (12th matchday) we had 3 points between 1st and 6th, and 7 points between 1st and 14th.

    Re: 3. Liga 2010/2011 [R]

Looks like we have gone done to four after matchday 13 - after 5 games without a win Regensburg is out of the top for now.

    Code:
    1 Kickers Offenbach 28:14 +14 32
    2 SV Wehen 19:8 +11 30
    -------------------------------------
    3 Hansa Rostock 29:14 +15 29
    -------------------------------------
    4 Eintracht Braunschweig 30:7 +23 28

    5 Jahn Regensburg 17:14 +3 22
Ridiculous that Eintracht is still only 4th... with their current record after 13 games they would have been first in both previous 3. Liga seasons, 2009/10 with a 4 points gap even.

The table you quoted isn't current anymore:

    Code:
    1. Hansa Rostock 32 +16
    2. Kickers Offenbach 32 +13
    3. Eintracht Braunschweig 31 +26
    4. SV Wehen Wiesbaden 30 +8
    5. Rot-Weiß Erfurt 23 +2
    6. Jahn Regensburg 22 +2
    7. 1. FC Heidenheim 1846 21 +5
    8. Dynamo Dresden 19 -1
    9. VfB Stuttgart II 18 +1
    10. Wacker Burghausen 18 -2
    11. SpVgg Unterhaching 18 -5
    12. Rot-Weiß Ahlen 16 -1
    13. TuS Koblenz 16 -6
    14. VfR Aalen 15 -5
    15. 1. FC Saarbrücken 14 -2
    16. SV Babelsberg 03 13 -7
    17. SV 1916 Sandhausen 12 -7
    18. Carl Zeiss Jena 10 -15
    19. FC Bayern München II 9 -9
    20. SV Werder Bremen II 8 -13
Eintracht Braunschweig has the best offense and the best defensive in the league. Hansa Rostock will get into trouble if starters get injured, as they have no bench to speak off (in their 25 men squad they have 12 players with 10 games or more and 9 players with 3 games or less - they basically rely on a core of 14 or 15 players, everyone else just makes up the numbers). Offenbach hardly ever dominates a match, take out their forwards and they aren't that scary.

I knew yesterday's results, just didn't use the table.
EB - they could pass Hansa, but as long as Kickers have their forwards - they will go up.

    Re: 3. Liga 2010/2011 [R]

Eintracht has the better offense, no doubt about that. And it's not as if Offenbach's forwards perform any better than Eintracht's:

Statistics so far for the forwards:

    OFC
    Occèan 9 goals, 1 assist
    Rathgeber 5 goals, 0 assists
    Hesse 3 goals, 0 assists

    BTSV
    Kumbela 9 goals, 3 assists
    Kruppke 7 goals, 3 assists
    Bellarabi 3 goals, 9 assists

Goals based on kicker's statistics, assists based on transfermarkt.de

Hansa's lack of depth is the concern for me, more so than Kickers. Probably because OO played for the Connecticut Wolves back in 2001, my old club ;)

    Re: 3. Liga 2010/2011 [R]

Matchday 15: top 3 win again, another 3:0 (against Burghausen) for Eintracht (36:7 goals and still third? Sigh - both Kumbela and Kruppke score again, take this Occèan :p). Wehen with their second defeat in a row (this time against Aalen, last week it was against Ahlen of course).

    1. Rostock 15 +17 35
    2. Offenbach 15 +15 35
    3. Eintracht 15 +29 34
    4. Wehen 15 + 6 30
    5. Heidenheim 15 +9 24

Next week Offenbach - Eintracht, again a live match (on HR, this time - many games live on TV this season so far, 3. Liga is doing alright).

Alex, thanks to you I'm hoping Eintracht goes up, but Hansa's merchandise catalogue from a few years back was full of hotties, but this year's online catalogue is not nearly as good. So up Eintracht!

    How?

I still have Kickers and now Eintracht has replaced Hansa. The girls in the catalogue just don't get it done this year ;)

You don't wish Eintracht Messeparkplatz-Ost (Fair-ground parking lot east = Brunswick) well. You just don't.

    Eintracht and Hannover are arch-rivals.

Anyway, I hope Eintracht goes all out attack in Offenbach on friday. They were way to defensive in Rostock (although the last minute loss was somewhat unlucky). But OFC are vulnerable in defense, and Eintracht has the best offense play I have seen from them in the almost 20 years since I went to my first game:
    http://www.sportschau.de/sp/layout/...p?rubrik=/fussball&page=3&id=109428#mbContent

The new club leadership (since 2008) has really turned things arround, the club hasn't been run that good since the 1970s.

    Re: 3. Liga 2010/2011 [R]

Depends... I'm pretty confident that promotion is possible this season, but 2. Bundesliga will still be difficult. Eintracht managed to improve the team while still reducing the costs every season - the current team costs less than the, let's say, not that succesful teams of 2 or 3 years ago. Almost all new signings of the last 3 years have come from the 4th or 5th divison, plus players from the own youth system.

That's why the coach and management are doing such a great job, after the club narrowly escaped bankruptcy in 2007/08. It will still take some time to establish the club in the 2. Bundesliga again.

However, it's not as if Hannover is guaranteed to stay up, so it might happen next season already (I don't think Hannover are the "favorites" for relegation, but it still seems possible, especially as many of the clubs currently behind them - Werder, Schalke, Stuttgart - will likely pick up).

If EB can get promoted and hang on for a couple of years, H96 could be in danger. I think they are safe this year.
