I wonder what time of day. In addition to the Daytona 500, Daytona used to host NASCAR on July 4 weekend. In the 1990s or early 2000s, it could moved from a day race to a night race because of how hot it is, and it's hotter in race cars. This season the second race at Daytona will be on August 29, so maybe Daytona wanted to host something on July 4.
