    And . . .?

The pitfalls of announcing an announcement.

LOL. If they cannot announce today, then it must be Columbus. :)

I have to say that the video of Flo and dog had a lot more positive impact on me than who our first opponent will be in 2019.

When Stahre won the 2018 opener in his first game in charge of the Quakes, I thought it was going to be one heck of season....

    I missed that one by a mile didn’t I?

It was one heck of a season... One heck of a horrendously bad season.

Though to be fair, I'm sure that most of us (myself included) felt pretty good after that home/season opener, even if somewhat cautiously optimistic because of how quickly Minnesota almost came back to win it.

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

Yeah - let’s say we felt optimistic after the first half of the first game. That second half of the first game (as the rest of the season) is best forgotten...

Beating Minnesota in the first game was ok but they still at that point only had one expansion season under their belt. They were still building their club as opposed to the Quakes who were starting their 11th season.

An unexpectedly weekend-friendly home schedule--15 out of 17 on weekends, 14 on Saturdays. More early starts than usual, but that's all right IMO.

Agreed. Downside is that the schedule has weekday games in LA, depressing away support.

no visits from last years top 2 East teams.
majority of out last 11 games...away!!!??? What a handicap that will be....jeez.
    sigh.

Ha ha. Goodsport created this thread already last year.

Mods -- perhaps we should merge the two threads.

That was seemingly pre-ordained. The eastern teams appear to be on an every other year rotation to Avaya. Since Atlanta and Red Bulls were here in 2018, Quakes visit those teams in 2019.

Cynic in me says the team wants to minimize the need to sell tickets to meaningless games. :)

And conversely, 4 of our first 5 at home, so we better start out strong!
