Well that Elite player talked about by Brad better be a defender. 6-2 loss in preseason with 9 days left before opening day to a team without their best three players is not encouraging

At least get the names straight - no one's talking about 'Anibaba' at RB.

OMG - completely invalidated! You’re right. Arguing Bye/Farrel AND Annibaba/Delemea is suuuuuuuuch a sweet situation. The REVs are soooooo blessed.

    And I don’t care if I mis-spelled a name...

I'm curious how much of this debacle is on the defense, or our midfield hanging them out to dry...

I think I read on Revs twitter feed there is supposedly a stream for today's game.

EDIT: it is for Saturdays game, not today's. Link to Revs' tweet added.

I thought be looked decent in his limited minutes. That said unless changes take place in regards to loans this year, I see him as another young guy that will get no chance to improve or push for minutes or even to making the 18

Same can easily be said for a number of guys at the end of the roster. Herivaux, Jones, Firmino, maybe even Angking all probably need to get loaned out in order to get a realistic shot at real playing time (or at least enough that theyhave a reasonable shot at improvement)

Edit: A couple articles I just saw

Bobby Warshaw's top 5 players at each position has 0 revs. Not just in the lists but also in any discussion of being on the lists

Preseason predictions for the team have them 10 or 11 in the east. Seems very fair based on the roster quality, specifically CB and CM

This ranking stuff is always a subjective take, and really only useful to while away time debating over beers - but, if you step away and look at the big picture, this type of analysis continues to show how mediocre (un-ambitious?) a roster the Revs are able to construct, once again this year.

Again, I'm not saying this is accurate, nor correct, and you can nitpick it to death. But at a macro level it suggested Revs have no players in the Top 55 of the league, never mind in the MLS Best 11, or 22, or 33, or 44.

So, where does the top/best Revs player sit on a league wide list? Are they in the next 11 - i.e., MLS Best 66? Or Best 77? 88? 99? Does anyone make the Top 100 players?

When your team has no players in the Top 50, and a number of other teams have 3, 4, or even 5 top difference-making players, you are in hole from the outset. That's not "negative", that's just a pragmatic analysis of what this article indicates.

    Revised list:
    • Atlanta: 5
    • Red Bulls: 5
    • SKC: 4.5
    • Seattle: 4
    • Galaxy: 3
    • D.C. United: 3
    • Portland: 3
    • Columbus: 3
    • Minnesota: 2.5
    • LAFC: 2
    • Montreal: 2
Minnesota had 2.5 players on the list and we had none? Minne-freakin'-sota? Oh yah, don'tcha know!

I'd say Opara, Alonso, Quintero and Rodriquez are immediate starters for the Revs. Ibarra, Gregus and a couple others would push for starting minutes

They make some pretty far-fetched possibilities in most of the cases for other bottom-half teams. Realistically, the SS is something that only 5-6 teams have a reasonable shot at. You can make the argument that any team, under the right lightning-in-a-bottle circumstances, can win MLS Cup, but you can't say that about the Shield.

Agreed - the fact they "mocked" Revs and Cincy - while coming up with at least something for teams like San Jose, Chicago, Orlando, etc......just come up with something for Revs and Cincy too - even if it is wacked out like the others too.

The "predictors" are just going by their latest piece of evidence - preseason results. Before the game action, the same folks were a lot more optimistic about the Revs, in wake of their offseason signings, draft picks and academy call-ups.

But, all that changed with the Orlando flop. Reverse that one score (in a preseason game) and I think their views would be much different. But, there's no complaint, it's up to the Revs to show that their preseason results didn't mean squat.

The revs also have a generally disinterested fanbase, so unlike disrespecting pretty much any other team putting down the Revs carries 0 risk of blowback

Maybe the 2nd DP signing is hanging out on a beach somewhere with the 4th and 5th TAM signings we were promised in 2017.

We probably have a great team of players that we "tried" to sign.

Even greater if we include those players who after experiencing the "Rev Lifestyle" did everything they could to never sign with us again.

Well, it's just like some other guy who was making predictions, with the disclaimer that if, somehow, he slighted this or that team or player, it's because he hates not only your team, but you personally.
