Post game interview with Carrasco - sounds very positive about what the new coaches are bringing to the team and specifically mentions Polenta at centerback and Skjklklerjek moving to left back as big positives heading into the regular season...
Gotta be at work at 7 am tomororw, so goodnight folks. Going to the game next week so maybe I'll see some of you there!
Thanks so much for the play-by-play, Trickhog! We may be in for a tough start to our season; still a few holes in our line-up, especially with injury woes.
We were outplayed by two goals tonight easily. Would it have been different if we had any of our top four choices for central midfield available? God I hope so. We learned that Steres can still do stupid shit and that even if scevlikkggj looks more natural at left back he can still be complexly responsible for goals against with terrible defensive play. The kamara goal and post were both on his being slow of thought. Ola was invisible. At times we look good with our full backs attacking but tonight we were hopelessly vulnerable on the immediately following counter attack. New coaching staff has its work cut out for them.
Cuello did a 180 from the TFC game. I can't recall him making a good pass going forward; however, he is most likely heading to Los Dos so I'm not going to fret over his performance since he likely won't make the first team roster. There were some good runs on the wings, but when they got to the box, the passes hardly connected.
Apparently, the Galaxy and Rapids are playing a closed door scrimmage again today, presumably for players who didn't play (or play much) last night. Britt @_BrittJo One more test for #LAGalaxy this morning. I’m still looking for a Galaxy line up, but it should be interesting to see who’s in the XI today from the starters last night. The team did a gym workout after last night’s match.
Really starting to like Polenta. Nice to be at the stadium. That double decker bar on the Eastside is far from being complete. Next week won’t be boring.

Galaxy win this game 3-1 based on the Rapids account. They only identified one of the LA scorers - Boateng
Might be less boring for Stkkjjk if he used it to learn how to be a better defender and earn even a small portion of his $1mil annual salary.
I can't wait until GBS and DTK are able to form their own roster from scratch. The fact that Ciani is gone and they brought in Polenta tells me they know what they're doing--Polenta will be a fan favorite. JDS was at some friend's birthday party last night. I would not mind if they released both of the DS brothers this year, I'm over both of those two. Free up an extra DP spot before the transfer window.
Being at a birthday party isn’t a problem by itself - he could be (better be!) injured. I don’t think JDS would skip the game if he was completely healthy, nor do I think GBS would allow it. JDS was one of our best players last season and last nights game shows how much he is needed on this team.
I know, and I like Jonathan. I feel like too much of Gio rubs off on him. If Tata decides to call them I wouldn't be surprised to hear of phantom injuries again.
Maybe it's time we spelled his name correctly, right to his face, as a token of respect and gratitude for all he has done for the Galaxy: It's "Skedaddle!"....
Well, I know he statement could be interpreted negatively, but I think you're being harsh on Skjelvik. He just wants to get into playing meaningful games. Enough drills and practice. Which player wouldn't say that, if they were being honest?
I don't have any insight on this, but it wouldn't surprise me to have both Dos Santos brothers depart this week. I found Jona's being held out for precautionary reasons and attending a party a bit questionable. Maybe it's just me, but shouldn't all first team members have been in attendance (injured or not)?
Maybe the team loans them out as a pair with an option for the team to buy them. I like Jona, and it would hurt the team to see him go but it may be the best option in the long run. I want to see what DTK and GBS can do with more freedom bringing players in that they want.
If he lets Jona go then he better have a roster addition for March 2 if we want this to be a good season. He is our only decent defensive midfielder, assuming Juninho isn't his old self (which appears to be the case). Our back line with Skjoiuou, Feltscher and Steres needs all the protection it can get. Even with Jona I think it is going to be dicey. I do get your point though - you want to Gio gone at any cost. Speaking of Juninho - has anyone seen him play this preseason?
